If Halo: Reach is geared even more towards casual players than Halo 3, how are you going to feel about it?

I personally am going to be VERY unhappy. I am tired of all the threads and things complaining about how the BR is overpowered. If they don't have a weapon with a scope, that kills in less that 4 shots, with more than 4 shots in the clip, I'm going to freak.

If they don't have a way of running the flag, I'm going to freak.

If they have 10 too many rapid fire weapons, I'm going to freak.

How will you feel if this game is geared toward "Weekend Warriors" or people who play once a month?

I think the weapons are becoming worse and worse every game.

They are becoming weaker and less tactical.

I think they need to create a balance somehwhere between Halo CE and Halo 2.

and bring back the plasma rifle stun.

I wont care because:

1. Games are designed to be mass produced in order to make money. If the isolate a sector of their customers then they will sell less copies.

2. Games are made to be enjoyed by AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE. Not just for people who take online play, and probably themselves, far too seriously

3. Im a "weekend warrior"

4. Im going to enjoy Halo; Reach for what it is...a new Halo game.

[Insert Catchy Phrase here]

If someone doesn't calm down it's just a game, I'm gonna freak.

and how!

The BR is too good at every range. At close range you can get easy kills by using a melee and one headshot, at long range you can keep someone's shields down and force them to take cover, at medium range you can kill someone very quickly.

It should only be effective at short-medium to short long range.

It should be what it is supposed to be, a marksman weapon, not the ace of all trades.

I love Halo. I like its sequels.

I'd be upset. But i'd probably just trade it in and play some CoD. Guns actually kill people and have accuracy in that game.

Sounds like a bunch of Justin Bieber wannabes in here. I bet you all wear skinny jeans too.

I would love it.
I'm fed up with all of these MLG wanna be idiots. They can't play the game for what it is.

Halo was never intended to be a hard-core, seat gripping, cant-go-eat-dinner-now-mom game. Its a relaxed, slow paced game.

Although I don't have a problem with MLG directly, I do have a problem with the players who believe all Halo should be about is the BR, Sticky Grenades, and Midship.

  • 10.20.2009 12:00 PM PDT

Halo should be what it was supposed to be in Halo CE, not what it turned out to be in Halo 3.

It seems like Bungie thinks making all the weapons weak will appeal to the casual gamers when really I think its the opposite.

I'm honestly not too worried about the MP atm, I just want it to have an EPIC campaign :)

But if they ruin the MP by making it too casual, i just won't play it as much. :/

Just because you are better at the game than other people doesn't mean that you deserve to have more fun than anyone else. Those people who suck want to have fun, too.

But I agree with you on most of your points:

There should be a mid-range weapon, yes. But it should be mid-ranged, not short/mid/long ranged. The BR's range is too far, and it works too well at close range. Bungie should either alter the BR in this way, or go ODST-style and completely remove it.

Running the flag? While I agree that it's a legitimate strategy and doesn't need to be removed, I wouldn't freak out if it was gone.

I completely agree with the last point. There should be an even balance of weapons this time: Around 1/3 of the weapons should be "hold down the trigger to fire" weapons, 1/3 "press the trigger each shot" weapons, and 1/3 "power" weapons. When there's six different versions of basically the same weapon, it gets old.

You took the words right out of my mouth. Some people grow up and can't be "hardcore gamers" anymore, they've got jobs but want to play in their free time. Doesn't mean they like the game any less than you, but probably don't have the time to devote to learning the in's and out's of the multiplayer system, or perfect their l33t BR skillz. Also for what it's worth, I see the merit and skill in people that use the BR but I like weapon variety in my games.

They are isolating a group. The casual players, who ride on Mongi, spray with ARs, and don't care if they make a team lose.

I want to have a game where there is a CE pistol, and more balanced weaponry, and yes, I mean the old Halo CE AR!

How would casual players feel about the change anyway? They wouldn't care!

What made you post this? Do you have a source indicating that Reach is going to be a casual game of some kind?

Are you sure the best way to stop hearing about the battle rifle (yea I spelled the whole word) is to make a thread where that is the longest point discussed?

Or do you live under a bridge and try to eat billy goats?

Why did I post this? You must be a casual gamer hm? If you haven't noticed, the Halo series is getting easier and easier for new players.

I got Halo CE for PC a year after it was out, first experience of playing it, and I loved it! I didn't care if I was raped by pistols, I didn't care if I was destroyed by a sniper, why do you think anyone else will when they first get the game?

The online is easyer or the campaign.

I play when I can, never as much as I would like.

  • 10.20.2009 12:20 PM PDT

Your profile picture... You are clearly just an MLG fanboy tring to overwhelm this game with MLG. Its not all about multipleyer, flag running and pwning non MLG players. If this game if being made with MLG in mind. Im going to freak. MLG runins games multipleyer. You get players that are just retartedly good and players that want to be MLG and think they are and talk trash but they really suck.

Holy crap another MLG BR whore...... im gonna freak....

Is it possible to whore a BR? Pretty sure there is more than one on most maps.

I never said I liked or disliked MLG, I never even mentioned MLG.

I am still praying that we get the M6D, so I can really show you what you call "unfair".

They are not isolating anything, You MLG fanboys -blam!-ed to bungie about not having a lockout remake, Then you got it. And now you have Midship. We normal players have been asking for a blood gulch since halo 3 came out, What to we get. Valhalla and a bunch of MLG fansboys like you telling us valhalla is good enough. Yet you guys said guardian was not good enough for lockout out....

Do you think bungie is going to give MLG what they want. Probably 98% of people who play games are in it for fun-just under hardcore. Probably 1.5% are in it for ture hard core and .5% is MLG. bungie is not going to give you what you want becaue they will not make any money.

Are you Insane In the Membrane?

Do you know how much any MLG player would LOVE Blood Gulch? Do you know how many Halo 1 players, who are good at halo 3, wnat a Blood Gulch remake? I don't remember anyone asking for a remake of Midship. Anyone who is anyone wanted a remake of Lockout, it was an awesome map. Everyone liked it.

Lockout sucked in halo 2 and it sucks now. I saw so many forums posted about a midship remake and how it was "SUCH A GOOD MLG MAP" and blood gulch is too big for an MLG player I though. Arn't MLG players at home in a map the size of a blood gulch base with walls and floors made out of BR's?

I'm tired of the elitist threads screaming about how nooby everything is.

Play a tactical shooter if you want a tactical experience. Otherwise, expect to get machine gunned down and whacked over the head every once in a while.

91 campain or 0.79%
3414 ranked or 29.16%
2555 social or 21.82%
5647 custom or 48.24%

An average of 20.150 games per day.
0.157 Campain
5.876 Ranked
4.395 Social
9.719 Custom

Whoever these stats belong to sure seem to not play much campain. And loves custom. Also seems to have a lot of free time.

If you assume that every game lasted 15 min the the average play time per day would be 5.037 hours, not counting time between games when waiting on matches.
