If Halo: Reach is geared even more towards casual players than Halo 3, how are you going to feel about it?
I personally am going to be VERY unhappy. I am tired of all the threads and things complaining about how the BR is overpowered. If they don't have a weapon with a scope, that kills in less that 4 shots, with more than 4 shots in the clip, I'm going to freak.
If they don't have a way of running the flag, I'm going to freak.
If they have 10 too many rapid fire weapons, I'm going to freak.
How will you feel if this game is geared toward "Weekend Warriors" or people who play once a month?
Just because you are better at the game than other people doesn't mean that you deserve to have more fun than anyone else. Those people who suck want to have fun, too.
But I agree with you on most of your points:
There should be a mid-range weapon, yes. But it should be mid-ranged, not short/mid/long ranged. The BR's range is too far, and it works too well at close range. Bungie should either alter the BR in this way, or go ODST-style and completely remove it.
Running the flag? While I agree that it's a legitimate strategy and doesn't need to be removed, I wouldn't freak out if it was gone.
I completely agree with the last point. There should be an even balance of weapons this time: Around 1/3 of the weapons should be "hold down the trigger to fire" weapons, 1/3 "press the trigger each shot" weapons, and 1/3 "power" weapons. When there's six different versions of basically the same weapon, it gets old.
Wut? If it's hard, play on easy... The gameplay shouldn't be dumbed down for casual gamers, but the easiest difficulty should be able to suffice to them. And anyway, even in Halo CE easy was a walk in the park, now they're making normal easy when you should just play easy instead.
And the thing is, logically, sine its inception, video games are becoming more and more popular. Strangely enough, developers think dubbing down the gameplay will make people buy more the game, thing is, back in the day it wouldn't affect sales, why would it now? The only thing is that more and more people are aware of it and it's not so geek anymore. If you have an easy difficulty, why make everything so dumbed down? It would only lower the challenge to good games instead of making it more easy to newcomers since they'll still find it ok at easy. I can't understand their logic.
