Many people do not know but the trueskill system is actually a very effective system. The only flaw seems to be rooted in Halo 3 and not in the actual implementation of trueskill. It is logical that if the outcomes of games are more random, it would trick the system into giving players with lower skill levels as well as the more casual players higher ranks. This in turn causes the lower skilled&higher ranked players to get matched up with players of far greater ability and have an unpleasant experience. Given that the above is true does it not make sense to make the game harder to pick-up and play, just for the sake of preserving the gameplay experience of lower skilled/newer players as well as creating a more interesting environment for the more experienced/competitive players as well as veterans.
Thoughts and opinions welcome.
Note: I also feel that visible ranks should be removed as that is just added incentive for second accounters and also encourages overly aggresive behavior in the more competitive players.
