I like it. It would realy make things more interesting, and it's trying something new.

No, it would take away from the simplicity of Halo.

There are people that want a more complex gameplay.

I for one would not like to see this. But unlike everyone else who votes no, it is not because it would "codify" Halo.

I wouldn't like it simply because it over complicates the game. Yes, this does add depth to the game, but there are better ways to add depth to a game to add different round types.

I can't think of one game that has different round types, and I think I know the reason:

Most rounds tend to act more or less the same. Some have more penetrating power, some, some are tracers, etc.

However in a game such as Halo, where every bullet you shoot is visible, and you cannot shoot through objects, there is no point to be honest.

A) You dont know you cant shoot through objects in Reach
B) Everyone who has voted no has said it "over-complicates the game," just like you just did.
C) Why is the only reason for having multiple ammo types, shooting through walls? What about long range options, explosive rounds, "shredder" rounds, anti-vehicle rounds.. etc..

At least shredder rounds..

  • 10.24.2009 2:00 PM PDT

Arent shredder rounds in the book?

i.e. you could come up on a box of explosive shotgun rounds and if you had the shotgun, you could press "x" or "RB" (?) to cycle through your different ammo-types to select the newly acquired explosive rounds.

O yes, I like this idea, but instead of x or rb, you could use D-PAD! No one ever uses it, and it has no purpose in Halo at all!

No. To much customization ruins games. Take a look at Mass Effect. I hated the equipment. There were to much, most similar of not exactly the same. Bungie should stick with what they know... Halo.

I like how you keep bumping this thread, with double and triple posts. And how you can never see anyone else's point of view. You constantly shoot down people with valid reasons for disagreeing with you. It's not like if you keep this alive they are going to consider it. If they were going to do it they would have already had it in there. They've been working on it for who knows how long. I've read 5 years in some places.

The game would no longer revolve around the 2 weapon setup, and you would have no need for different kinds of guns. I like the idea, but implementation in a practical way that won't break the gameplay does not seem likely.

Yeah.. but it could be implemented.

Just because you have multiple ammo types for SOME weapons doesnt reduce the number of weapons needed in the loadout.
