Never give up on your dreams... unless you wanna be an astronaut.

Over the course of my Halo days, I've noticed one flaw that should be fixed for future titles, such as Reach. The flaw that I'm speaking of is the weapon/objective pickups. When I say weapon pick-ups, I am saying how an Objective should be picked up even if Rockets is right next to it. You may have experienced this before with when playing an Objective Game. You go for the Objective, but end up picking up one of the weapons around it. This kills me nearly 75% of the time. So what I propose is a system called WOP or Weapon Objective Priority, this could be used for any FPS I assure you.

WOP would be an out of game feature, just like appearance, you would not be able to edit it during the course of the game. WOP would be located in the main menu right under Theater, or whatever feature may be added in Reach. When you click on it, it will show a single column straight down the middle of the screen. The Column would show a picture of the weapon (In some sort of Bungie fashion, probably Blue and have a texture similar to this). All of the weapons in Halo: Reach would be shown in the column.

Beneath the picture of the weapon, would be a bar. The bar would be a bar with a percentage next to it. the percentage shows how much priority it has over other weapons. Let's say for example that your Plasma Rifle percentage was 75% out of 100%. Obviously the Plasma Rifle has a greater priority than other weapons so whenever you go to pick it up, you would pick it up instead of any of the surrounding weapons.

In the WOP screen, you would be able to scroll the bar to the left, decreasing the percentage, or to the right, increasing the percentage, by simply clicking on the Weapon. Another feature would be to type in the number that you want of that particular weapon. The percentages on the other hand, would have a completely user friendly interface. For instance, the percentages would be in the form of points. When you take away the percentage, you would in turn be gaining percentages to use on other weapons.

You may have already seen a problem in WOP. If you haven't the problem is, " What if I don't necessarily want my top priority weapon at the moment, would I be able to pick up any other weapons?". The answer is simply, sure. All you would have to do to pick it up would be to look at it, and press the activate button, or RB.

Objective Priority

Okay, this next little section is to simply explain OP, or Objective Priority. You see, when you're getting killed when you are trying to pick up the objective; but instead you're picking up that pesky weapon, is not fun. So what WOP would do is allow for you to have the option that would make the Objective have a 100% priority for you to pick it up; Meaning you can pick up the Objective no matter what, even if it is in a pile of other weapons.

Default and Conclusion

If you do not feel like editing a WOP for yourself, there would be a default one set up for you. The default settings would be the normal setting that you are used to in Halo 3.

If you have any input on how to make WOP better, please share your ideas.

bungie has proven that a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of keyboards can randomly type out a masterpiece. the thing is, when you go to play the masterpiece, you cant help but notice all the monkey s**t smeared all over it.

it gets real old having to wait months for someone like mlg to clean off all the monkey poo.

The feedback I got from the Halo 3 Forum told me to come here with this. I feel like this is a decent idea and should be taken into consideration for the release of Reach and future titles. Obviously though nobody has really looked at this otherwise there would be some feedback, positive, or negative.
