Anything is possible when you are a Spy!

Throughout the Halo series, it is stated that the Covenant is beating the UNSC at every turn. However, whenever I play a Halo game, it always seems like the Covies are bunch of pansies that I can mow through like butter. Even in ODST, where you're supposed to be mortal (well, more mortal than usual,) you van still cut Brutes down with ease.
Which brings me to my point.
I have never really felt like I was losing the war or accomplishing something great against incredible odds. My hope is that Halo: Reach, since it is the story of the humans losing, will be able to do that. I think it would make more epic, and immerse the player more, make them actually feel like they're accomplishing something when they blow up a Covie cruiser, and not like they do this every day for fun.

I agree except that in Halo CE you really felt like you were doing something amazing and that humanity need you.

By Halo 3 it felt like the whole story and atmosphere had become a game of hide and seek. And run and gun.

"You must be mistaken, Reclaimer. I've met your makers, and they don't even know your name..."

I'd like a dark, gritty atmosphere, but still keep that slightly silly twinge that makes Halo different from Gears of War.

I agree that Halo CE was more epic than the sequels. Halo 3, even on Legendary, felt like I was accomplishing nothing.
