lets say you have a smg and a needler at the same time (dual) then you press Y to change to your battlerifle and then you swap your battlerifle for a plasma pistol and then you try to do a dual with another plasma pistol. is this possible? there are no controller issues that might make it impossible, so it's up to bungie if you can carry 4 weapons.

That would be awsome you have an SMG and needler for the flesh and you also have a Plasma Pistol and Plasma rifle for those pesky covenent shields.

We have been over this a million times, I cannot be done. When you hold two weapons and want to switch to your reserve weapon, you drop your left handed weapon. The most guns you can have is three, and you cannot have two weapons in reserve.

um....no. you drop one weapon when you press B. Y just switches weapons. so logically yes it will be possible. But who knows. bungie might not let you some how.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is how it will be done (Bungie stated this during an interview with a magazin): You will have to weapons like normal, say a two-hander and a one-hander. One out, One in reserve. If you have that one-hander out, you can click y to pick up another one-hander to duel wield. You still get to keep the 2-hander in reserve. This gives you three guns at once. When you switch back to that reserve gun, you drop one of the guns you were duel-wielding, and put the other one hander into reserve, thust getting the gun numbers back to 2. That is how it works.

If i'm not mistaken in the e3 2004 trailer the MC gets the second SMG from the marine then he switches to his BR to shoot the five jackles that are lined up and then just before he hijacks the ghost he pulls out the TWO smg's and fires at the first ghost that passes him.

Now thay may have changed that since then but that is what happened in the trailer.

That was E3 2003. In the E3 2004 they clarify that you can have your primary weapon, and if you have another weapon that can dual wield, you walk over another dual wielding weapon and press Y, your now dual wielding. But once you press Y again to change to your primary, you drop one of the dual wielding weapons. You can only carry 2 weapons, but you can hold 3. Got it? Good.

Let me correct you. First that was E3 2003, you could do all that then.

Now for the E3 2004 build. There are several times you are forced to drop your off hand weapon.
* When entering a vehicle or using a turret.
* Picking up the flag
* Pressing B
* Switching to your reserved weapon

Now these may be changed just for MP or they may be different for everything. Boarding has been simplified for MP, this may also have been modified to balance the game out.

Well sorry I meant 2003 but I forgot about the 2004 one where it does drop one weapon but could you provide a link to this information on what causes you to drop your third weapon because I dont remember reading anything about that.

Oh ok but it might still be only for MP to balence it out, nobody but maybe a few bungie developers have played the single player.
