The cutscenes in Halo 1, 2, 3 and ODST are not that bad but sometimes it makes some people want to kill themselves because Bungie uses in-Game engine graphics for their cutscenes.

I want Bungie to use CGI for making cutscenes for Halo: Reach so nobody will complain how ugly the faces are and how the graphics are really bad.
This might be a great chance for Bungie to use CGI for the cutscenes for their future games, and I know how good the graphics will be for Halo: Reach because it's uses it's own engine but I think CGI graphics are much better.

Thoughts?
P.S: Don't get me started about Unreal Engine.

What did they use for Halo Wars? Cause I know bungie helped with Halo Wars, so they could probably use that to make the cut scenes. Even tho gameplay in Halo wars was badish, the cut scenes were amazing in my book.

Armor Lock isn't overpowered. You just suck at Reach :)

Reach isn't bad, you're just a BK :)

They did however Advise on it. They helped the guys finish it after ensemble studios was closed too i think.

I would absolutely love to see the graphics used in Halo Wars in Reach, they were amazing, I realise that Bungie didnt play a huge role in Halo Wars, but by the gods did it have good graphics in thosr cutscenes, if I saw those in Reach, the game would be my Game-gasm. once a week.

Well, the Halo 3 engine looks alot better in cutscenes than actual in-game stuff, the lighting is much better. The Reach engine is even better so that one will at least look as good in-game as halo3 looked in cutscenes, so Reach-engine cutscenes will look just fine.

Oh, and CGI cutscenes?! are you serious, the last time I saw those in a game was on the original xbox (I don't count RTS games, because making cutscenes with such an engine is different).

I'd prefer cutscenes not existing, myself. Being in the helmet of whoever we're playing, seeing everything through their eyes would be amazing.

Half Life(2) did it perfectly.

In the Halo FPS games, you will usually play inside the same environment you see a cutscene in. Having the graphics suddenly downgrade when entering first person would feel really strange.

I'd rather not. I actually think that they got it quite right with ODST int hat you get traditional cutscenes and then a little extra from 1st person with the HUD showing before starting gameplay. Just ads a little more to the immersion factor.

In short: Yes, Halo Wars' cutscenes were great, but IMO CGI would make an FPS game less immersive.

No, no CGI cutscenes, they'd have to make them in HD to make them look good, aand, we'd either get very little quality cutscenes, or a really small game compared to what we'd get without the CGI.

See, if Reach had we'll just call em 'Rendered' graphics, similar to Halo Wars, that would be awesome, but I dont understand the mechanics behind all this, so it might not be possible.

And if In-game graphics are as good as Halo 3 Cutscene graphics, then I wouldn't feel any different coming out of Halo Wars -like-cutscene.

halo 3 does a good job with the cut scenes being in game graphics but Halo Wars has the best cut scenes ive seen in a game.

Nothing is better than gaming through the day, into the night, then back into the day. It's like when you finally push that power button you feel like you've accomplished nothing, but at the same time, you can't stop smiling.

Never. I've always loved how they used real-time cutscenes. It makes the game flow better.

Dang. If Bungie used every idea that fans came up with, we would have terrible games. If they made the cutscenes CGI then people would be sad when they would go back into first person. Then they would complain and say the whole game should be CGI even though that would be like, impossible.
