Subject: FLOOD? Yes or no?

“There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.” - Ernest Hemingway

If you say "no", please come up with some ideas for a new enemy lie the FLOOD, only better and that doesn't have the same feeling to it.

We don't need flood in Reach. Neither do we exactly need a replacement.

Instead of flood we should have German Fascist zombies. If you don't get the reference, think about it.

  • 10.22.2009 1:21 PM PDT

There's no flood on Reach from start to finnish and there isnt a similar thing to the flood either (perhaps hunters seen as they are a hive mind too but not sure if they ever attacked reach).

You seem to be making some pretty bad posts with little knowlege.

Since Halo: Reach is a prequel to halo 1, and the flood wasn't introduced until sometime during mid-halo1 campaign, i don't think we will be seeing the flood in reach (correct me if I am wrong).

Unless you count that bs in Halo Wars, which I don't, you're right. Though I think I read somewhere that ONI knew about at least the forerunners, maybe the flood.

I don't have the proof (Bad memory and I can't remember where I read it if I ever did) but I think the flood was found by the covenent a while before halo 1 and the prophets kept it a secret from the rest of the covenent. I'm not sure if the human's had ever encounterd them before but (not sure if its canon or not) the SoF and it's crew encounterd the flood on a forunner sheild world (Halo Wars for those who don't know.)

Someone correct me if i'm worng cause it's getting on my nerve's not knowing if i'm right or wrong here.

Absolutely not. It writes right across the canon like a nuclear bomb tipped marker of death. I'll never, EVER accept any waffling excuse as to how the Flood ended up on Reach. At least that's Campaign mode. If there's Firefight: Flood, I could care less.

I did read the fall of reach awhile ago, but I do not remember reading about the flood (bad memory). Yes you are right, the covenant did know about the flood before the humans ever did i believe, but I can't remember if the humans did encounter the flood before halo 1. If i recall (from years before), I don't think that Even cortana had knowledge of the flood, and if she did, it was very little knowledge. Havn't played the halo1 campaign in forever so I can't remember

If you accept Halo Wars as canon, the Spirit of Fire's crew encountered them in 2525.

Thank's Domin and Panzee stop stealing my post things >.> I already said that.

Oh true, they did encounter them...then all that's left is to recall if the flood ever made it on reach (which i don't think they ever did)

I highly doubt they did however if bungie pulled the flood out on Reach i'll scream. Liturally.

I don't think the SoF ever actually managed to tell any other human fleet's/base's/planet's about the flood?

  • 10.22.2009 1:41 PM PDT

yep doubt it, and if i see the flood i will cry

  • 10.22.2009 1:43 PM PDT

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

On 2 firefight maps. On 1 they're the only enemy, on 2nd they are with Covies and Sentinels.

Juggernaut would be cool. No need for brand new ones.

Actually the flood was introduced pre-Halo:CE, Have you played Halo wars? Ya they saw the flood. If you don't get why they put the Flood in Halo wars I don get it either because in Halo:CE Cortana said that there was no trace of it in the UNSC database. But how can that be when on Harvest the flood was there. Cortana was either lieing because it was that bad or Captain Cutter never submitted a report on the flood or They died along the way. But I personaly HATE THE FLOOD. Its annoyinng and very scary.

  • 10.22.2009 2:04 PM PDT

I like Halo, It kills all sentinel life with sufficient bio-mass... and doesn't afraid of anything.

Campaign - God/Bungie Forbid
Firefight - Sounds like a promising idea.

  • 10.22.2009 2:07 PM PDT

Maybe a new type of Covenant? Something canon, but not exactly heard of either. Either way, engineers should feature here at about the same level as ODST.

  • 10.22.2009 2:09 PM PDT

Guys im not sure but there could be the flood inside cause the fact that there was a gravemind around when the spartans where first introduced and it got killed by an halo ring, and the plannet Reach could of been destroyed by that halo ring at the exacat same time or something, but comeon i dont think the spartans got killed by the elites or something cause master cheif is basically the weakest of the spartans considiring his armour also imagine it master cheif killed dozens of elites an hunters if their dozens of spartans than it would be an invincable team wouldnt it, grave mind has some crap this for sure dudes, flood sucks!

The spirit of fire never made it back to the unsc therefore there are no official records of the flood
