There can be only one!!!

I'd like Bungie to bring back fall damage in the next game. It actually adds an element of danger to getting the advantage of the high ground.

I disagree. These are Spartans, and this is them in their prime. These guys were beasts. Fall damage is not in their vocabulary.

An option for custom games, perhaps. But fall damage would kinda kill the point of mancannons, right?

Agreed. If ODST is any indication, it shows that Bungie may be starting to dislike the idea of a invincible, overpowered badass that kills aleins and doesn't afraid of anything...

Who says there are mancannons? Anyway, fall damage gets you thinking weather or not you should do something 'cause it might kill you, and your k/d spread is everyothing to you.

And what better way to decry the spartan's fabled invincibillity than making a game about how a squad of five spartans who were so amazingly strong at combat were helpless to stop the world around them from burning to the ground?

Why do you think there won't be?

In addition, the point of fall damage is not to force players to be overly cautious to protect their precious stats. How many people do you honestly think are going to just "accidentallY" fall?

Fall damage blocks off certain pathways in a level. For example, if I have a verticle capture the flag level where the defenders base is at the top and the attackers base is at the bottom, it wouldn't work with Halo 3. The defenders would jump to the bottom quickly to kill the attackers and if the attackers got to the flag they could just quickly score it.

With fall damage, you force the players to stay on the walkways but you also create sightlines for them to fight at medium range from walkway to walkway downards.

I like the idea of it being a customizable option. Yeah they're spartans, but falling from the highest points of maps like sandtrap...thaaaat's a bit much. Sure, let 'em fall farther than the average person, but I'd kinda like some cut off point.

i think they should bring it back to a degree, however they should be able to survive a higher drop then the ODSTs as they r super humans and not just dudes in armour (like ODSTs)

im not sure that you land hard enough in the man cannon to have fall damage but if there is fall damage on the man cannons then bungie could just tweak them so they don't inflict damage
