Stuffz....

Actually hit a guy when you meele him. Actually swingin a punch at him, making him go a few steps back, and making you bend over a little bit.

Decent jump animation.

When shot by sometihng that shots multiple bullets at the sime time (like a turret) actually get stunned for a few seconds due to bullet impact (that would make the game way more tactical)

Having your suit to take damage, for example: you start with a clean suit at the beggining of the match and at the end it should be full of bullet holes and stuff.

Being able to damage the environemnt. (like an explosion of rockets next to a rock should actually destroy it...)

Throw in some ideas!

You should be able to pick up environmental objects such as rocks and detached pieces of metal. You are a super soldier after all and it would help to make your own cover too =)

Nice idea, maybe we could even build small forts to hide with our snipers =)

That could be done. But the flaw of my idea is that it might provoke people to start camping in plain view areas

Maybe you could set up underground mines?

Would make it more tactical...

And you could use the mines to surround campers, so they're stuck in their camping place, and just throw a few nades inside...

Besides, I doubt anyone would go through the work of building cover in the middle of a multiplayer battle, unless Bungie makes super large maps...

Very true, but maybe a stamina system so you can only carry a large object for so long?


hmmm...I don't know...you're a super soldier that can stay awake and in fighting shape for weeks in a row if needed...

But maybe carrying the object would make you super slow and an easy target?

And the places where bungie would place such objects should be in open areas...Making it therefore harder to get to them.

Another idea is the option to call in MAC lasers (Can only be used outdoors and weaker than Halo Wars' one) or Cryo bombs (Same as MAC but still knocks out air units)the HUD would say whenever someone is calling them in and I think these would add a strategic element to the game.

E.g:
If someone calls in a MAC you could try and kill him before he finishes calling it or wait and avoid it

No, but strategic is different to tactical. Strategic means choosing a plan to stay alive and Tactical means planning out the whole thing

I think it's the other way around: Strategic = Plan or else concerning the whole game
Tactical = Plan or else concerning a single battle or else

It's called MAC blast(From Halo Wars).

Halo wars is not official. It may follow the "Halo Bible" but don't get too technical with how you say "MAC gun"(- Lord Hood) it's all the same thing.

And no, it is not a Laser. "magnetic accelerator cannon" http://halo.wikia.com/wiki/MAC
It is a full, warship-sized, gauss cannon. It's just like the Orbital Space Elevator too. It's all a timed series of magnets. The faster you cycle them the faster the bullet is going to come out.

This thread seems a little off topic. As for animations. Realistic movement when performing actions, would be sweet. But keeping it limited to a certain number of frames for gameplay and networking purposes is essential. I don't remember which viDoc they talked about animation in(it was old). But they have to balance look with, practicality. The animators would love to make a realistic movement with plenty of frames, but from a gameplay standpoint it just makes things more complicated.

All I want is a destructible environment and better melee/assassination animations. When I come up behind someone, I want to snap their neck instead of just punching their back.

Oooooooooooo, i got some ideas. Ok we could have cool gravity hammer animation. Ok well i dont see how spartans can carry it so I think you should like hold it with 2 hands low on the ground and then bring it up and smash the person or whatever. And i got some beat-down ideas too. Like Dark winder said hit the guy with your fist, it would also be cool if the energy sword actually stabbed people not slash. Cmon in cutscenes it stabs it doesnt slash. It should go through whoever you lunge at and then rip it out of them and like punch them or kick them down. Man, so many ideas i can think of but to many to type.

As a special assasination animation I would like the players free left hand to hold the head/body in place so the right striking hand (or part of weapon) can deliver more damage to head/spin/back/neck or what ever. I'm oposed to shoving a gun barrel past the sheild directly to the body, b/c of ammo issues and etc.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

If there's a Beta coming out Spring next year, would any of this be possible to include considering that all modeling and animation would've had to have been ready to go by now. Chances are that Bungie would not be able to add in any of this without having to push the release date of the Beta and the game a long way back.
