93% of statistics are lies. Formerly Xfire Grunt. Unfortunately, you can't change the WLID for your BNET account, so I had to create an alternate account. My other WLID was spam city (and it was my e-mail account too).

na, i dont think it will slow anything down. you wont be thinking about how fast a menu flows when youre lost in the immersion of the games awesomeness.

what is this halo you speak of?

ya i saw this on a game and loved it

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

Let us play Gnop while we wait... It shall be epic.

  • 10.26.2009 8:50 PM PDT

Seems cool, I vote yes.

  • 10.26.2009 8:54 PM PDT

Nolan is Nolan.

Hmm..
What If Halo: Reach had a semi-open stlye. Since the ammount of surviving spartans is somewhat unclear, you make your own spartan, to any extent, and walk around one of the only small cruisers. While you're searching in matchmaking, you still roam around a "multiplayer district" of the cruiser.

In there will be a room(which only you can eneter) where your bed(exit matchmaking "district"), your locker(armor), personnal terminal(stats and friend invites/messages), requsitons computer(starting weapons maybe? your service tag, and your options?), A mission computer(Pick your matchmaking list or whatever the things are called to search in.) and of course, aesthetics, which is just random crap in your room, maybe a mounted elite skull, medal chest, and such.

And of course, while you're searching, you can exit your room into a lobby, where there will be chairs, tables which you can sit at to enter a private chat with your friends who are sitting at said table, some arcade game units, foir warthog jumping maybe, gnop, marathon 2 if you bought it on the arcade?.

And of course, there would be a screen, which had a square in front of it of different color from the reg. tile or floor, in which you stand in to get a full view of the current map, gametype, and searching status.

I think I'm about to start a topic on this new system, not just for multyplayer, but the whole game.

I HAS A FARNCH FRIE!

I adapted your idea like this...

It would be like halo 2 when you go to the main menu of Halo Reach there is the options of

Campain
-Solo?/Coop?
-Lobby

Multiplayer
-Lobby

Xbox Live
-(it would be called)Compartment or Quarters

Forge
-Lobby

Theater
-Lobby

When you select Xbox Live it will ask you to connect(if you havent) and then send you to your Quarters or Compartment.(yes this means you can only acess if you have XBL).

You spawn in first person, in a small UNSC Battle Crusier(If you have the option to be an Elite, you'd be in a Covenant themed one, but to keep it simple, iys just different skins and you dont need to load special stuff to meet other people if they are spartans).
Okay Anyway, Behind you is a Cyro Pod to simbolise you just came from it, if you turn around, the option to leave your Quarters comes up with RB.

To your right is your locker, you walk up and open it, in there is all settings options and appearence options.

Farther down the wall is a door that leads to a hallway(but teleports you to the conference room.) in it is 16 chairs, your in one of em and when a player joins they pop up and sit down. the leader of the lobby is in the Big chair. Everyone has regular start menu/ appearence and settings stuff because you cant walk around to your room unless you select exit party.
the Leader has more options however, he selects from, Custom Games, Matchmaking, and FireFight. We can se what he is choosing as he does it just like the normal games(its just in a little screen).

Back in the room Theres a Big tv on the wall with an Xbox 360,(its on the wall you spawn looking at) From here you access the theater. It acts like a normal lobby its just in a smaller screen (like in the conference room) its like if you minimized your screen on a computer. so you can still see the backround of your room and all the players that joined. The leader will be at the top of the list highlighted in yellow outline. Everyone can move around in there room to change appearence and look at stats and post game carnage(will explain in a bit) and jump around for fun.

On the same wall, a desk with scatterd papers shows bluprints of maps. This of course, leads to the forge lobby. It looks the same as the conference room lobby and theater lobby.

on the next wall to the right, there are two windows and The Stats and Postgame report board. The first window shows reach (doesnt matter, glassed or not) Next o it is a desk with a computer, use this to access stats. Since you dont need a lobby for this it takes the whole screen up. this basically shows your service record and in depth stuff (like the B.net stats )

The next window mainly shows the deck of Covenant cruiser, makes it more believable for Elite users. and lastly, next to this is a board, it shows you post game stats, like the computer, it takes up the whole screen.

(any suggestions/ comments?)

Yeah. I agree with you ALL actually.

  • 10.27.2009 3:47 PM PDT

Oh sure it'd be neat, but if it meant sitting there waiting for it to load for half-a-minute or so just to walk around in some interactive lobby for a few minutes I'd rather say nah.

No, it just complicates things and is an unnecessary feature.

Roses are RED, violets are BLUE

it worked in mech assault 2 very well in my opinion (although not many people play it anymore) i would love to see this integrated in reach :)

See you on the battlefield.

I'd like that. It'd give me something to do while waiting on matchmaking games, or even in the lobby, waiting on the party leader to hurry up.

it could be integrated well i believe, if you have it so that it could be the size of like an elephant maybe, big enough for a cryo tube, drop pod, locker, and computer screen and it could be intergrated into mid game aswell with the spawning, and you could pick where you spawn with the drop pod, then enemy players could try to divert the course of your drop pod, but they can't destroy it [that would just be annoying] so if the enemy had a tank, they could hit your drop pod, you'd feel it and then you could try to use your course stabilisers to get you back on track, this leads to tactical thinking, do you risk going to the front lines and risk being blown off course, or do you risk going behind enemy lines and have them be alerted to you landing there [i mean you'd kinda notice an enemy drop pod landing behind you] or do you play it safe and land in friendly territory, obvi drop pods will self destruct or something to make sure they don't litter the map, but that would be legendary, and i like the idea for the locker being used to pick starting weapons, but have it locked fr some playtypes, say like you're playing MLG, you'd always have AR/BR, not change, but in normal slayer, maybe start with a choice of your race's weapons, the you can keep weapons you picked up [say if you're a human and you like the energy sword and you picked one up and died with it, you could spawn with it, also there could be a door that takes you to a specified spawn point and you could bring a vehicle with you, but with these selective bits, so that people don't spam down tanks and power weapons, you could have it points or exp based, so higher level players could drop with whatever they want or even be dropped with a tank and start blowing stuff up, and the door would then place you in the back of a pelican, obviously the spawn point would either be slightly off the map or unavailiable if the enemy have got a large force near the LZ.

how would you cliick? anyway, it would be cool, but cryo tube insted of cot, and you actually walk around it in first person. needs more potatos.
How would you actually walk around are cryo tube? It's barely big enough to move around in, let alone walk.

Walk AROUND it, as in the outside of it, which is quite roomy!
