Subject: Lets not read too much into Bungie updates

I started following what Bungie has to say each week several months before Halo2 and have been reading them ever since

They are always a good read and sometimes we get some real juicy bits on their current game

The trouble is, and i think i'm talking about a good percentage of people that do this, lots of us tend to imagine an entirely different concept of what is being described by these updates

We need not look too far back to see a good example.ODST turned out real nice in lots of ways but so much of what i had assumed from Mombassa street for example was not what i had read from Bungie's updates. It wasn't to say it was rubbish but it lacked the scope i considered hinted to me from these updates

Halo3 updates at times read like an explosion of the most truly awesome Halo moments we'd ever imagined and that really wasn't the case when we got to play it - excellent game though

I think it's better we either don't read them at all or we just assume that what we're reading might not in fact apply to what we witness in our imagination as a result of reading them

I'm sure Reach will be pretty smart no doubt but i don't want to be drooling at the prospect of something unbelievable when in fact we only get excellent

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

I agree, but this will not change the fact people will look too much into things regardless. From all of the theories of Halo 2, Halo 3, and ODST I saw none of them came true.

I challenge someone in this community to get something right within Halo: Reach.

FIRSTPOST and good point

I just hope that we're still shooting up elites in Halo: Reach. But I have to agree with you. Years ago I would read the updates all the time hoping to hear something new and awesome only to be disappointed.

Well I kind of figured out from Halo CE that humans were actually the forerunner race, but I guess that really doesn't have anything to do with gameplay.

I really just hope Reach delivers big this time and maybe that will have something to do with wether i choose to read what Bungie has to say each week concerning all this glorious stuff - i sure didn't know about any Bungie updates back when i bought an Xbox1, i didn't know who Bungie even were

If you are serious with that statement, then major props to you. There was VERY LITTLE in Halo: CE that implied we are Forerunner.

Well it was just a lot of what guilty spark said in Halo CE that got me thinking. Not to mention that he consistently called you the "reclaimer," and kind of implied that you were the only one who could activate halo. It only seemed to get more obvious as more games came out. I had a theory that I was pretty sure of from the original game, but the 2nd game really just reinforced that theory. By the time Halo 3 came out I was just waiting for it to come out in the open.

Lol, isn't that what we always do...while making up crazy theories about what the game will be like? Hahaha.

Warning: You may find that my, or someone else's opinion does not comply with yours. Side effects of disagreement may include (but are not limited to): flaming, irrational behavior, broken keyboards, and/or nervous sweats. If you experience any of these symptoms refrain from communicating with others until the symptoms have subsided.

I like to drool.

Ok, I'm making a prediction, but it's based on the books. I'm guessing there's going to be other spartans in the game...at least I hope there will be. There were in the book anyway.
