Firefight has been introduced to Halo 3: ODST, and it includes many hours of fun. But after getting the Vidmasters for ODST, Firefight is just another repititave game feature, and sometimes very predictable.
I love Firefight, but honestly, I'd like to see some things changed for Reach, that is, if they're going to keep Firefight for Reach(please)
Nongameplay related ideas
One disappointment that I saw in ODST was the lack of a searching system, MY searching system could work so that you wouldn't get paired with some noobs that quit. You would choose a desired map on your difficulty, silver skull choice, and how many people you'd like. Then the game would search for someone with simaler choices and K/D spread and Firefight games close to yours.
I think there should be a leader board for Reach Firefight, for the highest scores. Now I would like to introduce 2 leaderboards. Casual Firefight(for Normal difficulty and below) and Pro FireFight(for Heroic and above)<---This is to seperate the people from the noobs and the veterans.
I think there should be 2 modes for Firefight, normal Firefight, and Custom Firefight(no search system). Custom Firefight would allow you to change a gametype that affected your Firefight experience you could change your health, change speed, change weapon starts, change weapons on map, change covenant on map, make forced colors, way points, active camo, overshields, change damage dealt, etc.
And of course your score in Custom Firefight will not count
Default Gametypes:
Raining Grunts
In this gametype you will face an endless non stopping army of grunts spewing out of a phantom with all skulls on(except iron optional)and watch your points rack up.
Watch your Step
In this gametype all your covenant enemies are invisible, watch where you step, they could be right next to you.
Infinite Lives
Firefight till' you just can't Firefight anymore! You get infinite lives.
Firefight
Nothing better then the original!
That would be the default gametypes you start with, and you could change them to your liking.
Gameplay
Now for the actual gameplay of Firefight. Since The battle for Reach was set before the Brutes overthrew the Elites, Elites are still the high power, and the enemies you'll face in Firefight.
Since you are now a spartan, and not an ODST you are much more powerful. The only thing I would change to keep the spartans from being over powered is, slow regenerating shields. And I think it would only be fit, if on the last wave, instead of Brute Chieftans, Elite Zeolots or Honor Guards.
And I know some of you may disagree, but I think Firefight should only be unlocked after completing campaign on Normal or Above, so that by the time they unlock it, they'll have some experience.
