Golf Wang. Brony.

IMO, H3 had some really good enemy AI. They'd use cover, equipment, all that good stuff, and there was variety too.

Yet they just stood there when you shot at them from far away, and wouldn't attempt to really get at you. They didn't feel as aggressive and cunning as they were in Halo: CE. Everyone also seems slower in movement, but that's just me.

Same goes for marine AI. It would be cool if they just transferred some of the enemy AI into you allies, if that were possible (I don't know if it is). They'd (like Grunts or Jackals) follow a Sergeant (like a Brute) into battle, and not be the mindless sheep they were in the past two Halo games. Too good at killing enemies? How about damage reduction for their weapons?

They should also be really fixated on you, keep up with the pacing of the game. As much as I love UNSC management (/sarcasm) I don't want to push marines towards my destination just so I can have a squad of guys to back me up.

Thoughts?

not flaming... but you think the AI in H3 is good? wow... it is pretty bad.

remove the armor of the brutes, they'll stand perfectly still in the open, giving you a good 5 seconds to shoot them in the head before considering moving.
hunters : one will attack you, the other will just wait for the attacker to die before rushing at you.
jackals : they don't even use their shields correctly...

as for the allied marines, they're pathetically useless. 3 grunts can hold off 10 marines forever.

but I do agree they MUST do something about the AI, whether they're allied or enemy, so I guess I agree with you.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Improvement is needed in terms of the AI. Especially if Firefight is going to be included.

I speak the truth, and truth speaks itself.
The lies disguise what you despise.
Run. Flee and be, what you've always dreamed.
What happens now won't matter later.
What you see will not be, nor what you imagine will not happen.
The end is close, so take your dose.

I think that they should focus more on everyone, and less on you.

When you play, you don't only go for the brute, but you go for the grunts too.

Umm... what? In halo 3, they're gonna be focusing on you the most. You're the "demon" rememer. ODST they pretty much split it even.

Same should happen in Reach-- focus on the spartans, but equally among them. Soldiers don't get as much.

With all new mustache action!

I do agree that the AI is pretty good, especially in comparison to other games. That said it definitely could use some improvements, that's obvious. More appropriate action from enemies when they come under attack, even from afar, would be a good addition. I know that I was able to play levels like The Ark with a chopper and just sit back and annihilate the enemies which of course ruined the combat.

Yeah they do go for everyone, you'll actually have to work to save the marines. Also keep in mind that as a spartan you're obviously the most dangerous and of the most importance.

Don't Pm me for groups, Cheers!

I think I vouch for everyone when I say that Halo:CE had the hardest Ledgendary mode of all the games. The AI was impeccable.

"Thoughts are the shadows of feelings; always darker, emptier, and simpler."

But guys! You have the CHOICE to make the game easier than it is! Kelly, instead of sitting back with the Chopper, why don't you use SELF CONTROL and rush in! IT'S SO SIMPLE!

/compromiser

Just wanted to do it before another bloke comes in and does it because they actually believe in it.
