Remember the Radar Jammer? It was quite useful for objective gametypes, it was a genius idea. But there was one problem, it enabled people to "radar jump." People were getting places they weren't supposed to, so they removed it from Matchmaking. The flare could also be used for the same thing, so it too was removed.

My proposition is this, bring them back in Reach, but make sure they cannot be used for "radar jumping." The Radar Jammer was very useful and I would love to see it return to Matchmaking.

Btw - polls on bungie.net mean absolutely nothing, so please don't use them to try and prove some kind of point.

It isn't especially useful IMO.

I'm positive that is going to be implemented. It's such a shame I never got to see those equipment used in MM. Those were particularly good ideas.

On another, unrelated note, can we lose the tripod on the Bubble Shield? That thing is pretty goofy.

Are you saying you want it to roll? Or are you saying you just think it looks retarded? Because originally it was going to roll (you can see this in one of the Halo 3 ViDocs), but was to overpowered, you could walk down the hill on High Ground with it while holding the flag, making you basically untouchable.

The radar jammer was the least cheap, most effective weapon. It was very tactical and a great addition. But I disagree with it being taken out. Yes, you can jump with it (like this one I discovered), but you can also jump with the power drainer (as you see in the video above). But they didn't remove the power drainer... If you're going to take the radar jammer away and blame it on jumping, at least be consistent. The PD is much more dispersed on maps. The jammer (to my recollection) was only on 2-3 maps (Narrows, Last Resort, and Epitaph [?]). Furthermore, only the host could jump with it, if memory serves me correctly. I could never do it in a party of friends since I had the worst connection.

Nah, just for looks. Like the Starry Night ad.

Instead of throwing it, you see your character take the "grenade" and shove it straight into the ground. If outside you see (and hear) it dig into the ground, "bubble" comes out as usual. If inside, it collapses with the sound of crushed metal, and the bubble comes out as usual.

Just a nice little redisgn that's expected out of a sequel. Some of the other equipment would benefit from that, perhaps even some like the Radar Jammer or the Flare be given to the UNSC side of things rather than the Covenant. In any case, I just don't like the designs used in Halo 3.

They looked like toys.

The Jackal wrist shield would be kinda cool... remember reading about Spartans picking them up back before they had recharging energy shields.

Yeah, I know. I just figured people would have a better idea of what it was if I said "Radar Jumps."
