OK, it's been quite awhile since I've heard anything about the Halo movie. I know they had put it on hold for awhile now, but have they totally scrapped it? Anyway, the reason I'm asking is because I just got three halo books yesterday (they came with Reach, Flood, and I think Contact Harvest - speaking of which, does anyone know the order the books are supposed to go in?). I'm 2/3 of the way through Reach and I really like it. I've been holding out for awhile because I feel like it's a pretty nerdy thing (and it is), but I just love Halo. And honestly, it has really drawn me into the universe.

SO while reading Reach, I understand it's not the best written story. There are definitely many cliches and poor sections of writing. That being said, the storyline along with the wittiness they put into it is just amazing. I think it would make for a VERY epic movie. There are so many emotional and moral twists with Dr. Halsey alone, let alone the exploration of all the emotions the spartans go through. On top of that, add in an impossible fight filled with daring and smart tactics, and it's just apocalyptically intense.

I feel that I've been all over the place, so here are my questions to comment on:

1. Is the Halo movie still on for some point in the future (perhaps a mod may know more about this)?

2. If it is, do you think the Halo movie would just be a generic movie that condenses the chief's exploits, or do you think they'd start off with Reach?

3. If you've read reach, do you agree with me that it would make for an absolutely epic movie (and what are you're favorite parts)? [*Make sure to indicate any spoilers*]

4. Does anyone know the order the books go in? Mine came in a pack of 3, but reading the titles of the other ones (Contact Harvest, Cole Protocol) and then reading those terms mentioned in Reach, I feel like I should have read some of the books before Reach.

erAsed is RIPPIN

Once you go Black you never go back!

Yes, Halo: The Fall of Reach would make for an EPIC movie.

Chronologically, the books go:

Contact Harvest
The Cole Protocol
The Fall of Reach
The Flood
First Strike
Ghosts of Onyx

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Supposedly Spielberg is making the Reach movie but it will not come out until after the game ships. This is the last I heard of the Halo movie.

Why won't they just finish it up already? I know a movie like Halo would take a lot of money, but other games are coming out with movies... Prince of Persia is getting a movie but Halo won't finish production?

Come on people!

Good. I was wondering whether it would be Reach or not. And honestly, like I said, I think Reach would make for a very epic movie in and of itself. I can't understand why Halo wouldn't finish either, as it has such a large following, it's sure to make money. I wondered if the movie holdup had something to do with MS and Bungie on the partnership side of things, especially with Bungie splitting up. I know MS has the rights to Halo now, but I don't know how that's all affected. Hopefully they're just holding out until the game ships, probably to try to boost both movie and game sales.

No.

Speilberg is just producing the FOR movie, not direccting. Stewart Beattie wrote the script and is trying to sell it.

Brace yourself.

This guy wrote GIJoe :X

I never saw GIJoe. Was it good? My biggest fear is that the appropriate amount of money will not be put into the movie and it will turn out horribly. It could be such an amazing movie if done right. The plot is absolutely amazing.

No.

It's as deep as Transformers. Unacceptable for Halo.
