I'd love to see a Halo Wars like game with a twist that would be hard to pull off but i think it'd be pretty awesome.
Bassicly there would be two versions of the game:
Commander version, you play as the commander(like in Halo Wars)
(can't think of name), you play as the troops that commanders buy
So when you are playing the (can't think of name) version you'd play as if you were playing Halo 3, you'd go into matchmaking, maybe set preferences for what race you want to play as, and you'd find matches. Once you join a match you might have to wait a little while for your unit to be completely created. Then you'd spawn and play as whatever character the commander created. You'd also (when commanded) get waypoints in where to go and you could also hear the commander telling you what to do.
Talking to the commander:
If all the players talked at once it would get really hard for the commander to understand what's happening so I think the D- pad should have a no and a yes feature that would appear above your characters head that only the commander could see. Also you'd be able to send requests to talk with the commander, if the commander accepts then you get to talk to the commander until the commander closes the com.
Units:
Would be multiple init classes that most of you know about.
But units that consist of squads I think it'd be riduculous if the entire squad was made by actual players. So Fisher 321 gave me the idea of making squad leaders. So when you are playing as one of the units that consists of a squad you'd end up playing as the squad leader. It will be either hold the X button and press the directions on the D-pad to give orders or use the Natal to implement voice and hand commands. The squad leader would either be a tougher marine or an elite. If you died as a squad leader your teammates would either cower or flee from their enemies.
I'm going to update this post if this becomes popular. If you can think of a name please post it.
Thank Extreme Elite for name, now I only need one for the other version.
