Subject: Halo 3 BS must not continue to Reach

you have to lead your shots and the br is a random spread, and if you ever play on lan, there is definitely bs

You mean you actually have to aim somewhat in front of them because they're moving and the br has a little bit of recoil so the shot spread randomly oh no next theyll actually have you aim at the other guy

I've almost only played lan because of the fact that we don't get high speed out in the country. there has never been a instance where any lag or bs has affected the game in the slightest bit.

I began playing halo3 online before i tried halo2. Previously i had often played large halo2 matches at lan parties. Going from halo3 to halo2 online was enough to convince me that the host advantage was unacceptable in h2, as was the hit registration. yes, terminal was a good map, as was containment and sanctuary, but that is in the past; forge denies you any excuse to complain.
The percieved "bs" compained about in the opening post sounds more like an annoying nostalgic cling. Obvious improvements have been made in halo3 in areas of lag and hit registration (lead your shots at range).
If you are going to complain about lag, contact your internet service provider.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

they used servers in GOW 2.
You are wrong. There is a host.

Start up a game of Horde. Pause. If the game stops around you, then you are the host. If the game continues around you, you aren't the host.

Looking to hook up with some competent players! Please PM me if you want a decent team mate, looking to learn from good players and impart what I know to the team too. Im sick of going 'randy' and getting betrayed for the sniper etc.. and having to put up with BK team mates

Good point, but the more complex something is the more error can occur. Less is more sometimes. Perhaps the complexity of graphics and physics of Halo is to blame? I agree with you however I try and just take it in my stride. I experience latencey and Lag so bad that quite often there is even packet data loss where rockets just dissapear and grenades stick but don't explode. Opponents being able to fire at a fast rate than me, even move faster. Opponents 'teleporting'. the list goes on (I even have some films of this garbage happening on my fileshare at the moment)...I will never make general at this rate! however as the years go by hopefully internet hardware is upgraded, patches are made for the game and things generally improve.

I have a LAN day with friends every so often and while it kicks XBL's behind, you still get the odd 'what the..' moment, Im still a fan regardless

Im not lying when i say this but the BS is both Live and LAN
ive got videos from LANs with me sniping and getting blood shots constantly or my bullets and melees still not regristering
Its probally me because im a BS magnet but how so if its LAN?
cant further my competitive experince without it being held back from faults and bugs in the games programming
so i believe its not the connection its the game itself

You guys realize that the folks at Bungie work their freeken asses off to avoid problems like this. They practically spend more time debugging then they do creating. What you get is what you get. But saying Halo 2 had it better then 3 is completely absurd and clearly, you guys are just out of your minds.

why did you quote me if nothing you post reflects my post? I said nothing about bungie or halo2. I SAID the game is faulty. Honestly the programmers are not lazy but they are not adressing or fixing the probelm. Why is halo 2s hit boxes are regristration better then halo 3? No probs in h2 but h3 the system is broken. As for bungie I respect thier Work and effort but how do they not see this? They actually spend more time creating then debugging. If they did debugged alot the game wouldn't be broken

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

yes that's true but, with servers the only person that lags is the one with the sucky internet
Wrong. I stopped playing gears of war 2 because, when there is lag, it is so severe that no one can play. And I do have a good connection. Dedicated servers still have their share of problem, just as hosting does.

I know most of you can agree that too much bs happens in Halo 3.

Ok...

This can be due to forms of lag, poor servers, or whatever. But this bs doesn't happen in a local game or a LAN.

Yes, it is due to lag, however bungie doesn't have servers that host the games, only servers for stats information and file sharing. And obviously this doesn't happen in a local game or LAN because there is no lag/latency. What was the point of even mentioning that?

Well, Bungie needs to do something in Halo: Reach to fix this problem because I know plenty of players who dislike Halo 3 because of the hit registration issues. Some even quit the game.

Now you have a point. I agree that the hit registration could use improvement.

If Bungie wants to get more money and interest, they must act to fix the hit registration and lag issues that (their?) servers and equipment cause.

Little details like this in a game aren't going to attract either money or interest. Marketing towards a 'good hit detection system' seems absurd.

Bungie's equipment doesn't cause any issues, lag causes the issues and lag/latency cannot be 'fixed'. In order to fix this you will need to increase the speed of light, which is impossible. You can, however, change how the game registers things, was this what you meant?

If you ask any Halo layer they will say that Halo 2 is better than Halo 3. You ask why. They say because there was less bs.

You can't assume every player thinks that Halo 2>Halo 3, it doesn't work that way. Besides, those would just be opinions which would add nothing to your argument
