Subject: Master Chief in Chalk and Scratchboard

Hello, I am new to the Halo community, but a long-time fan of Bungie. As part of a recent art project, where we created An image in both chalk and then scratchboard, I chose to do Master Chief as my subject. I think they turned out pretty well:

Scratchboard:

(Sratchboard is white paper covered in a layer of black which has to be scratched away to create the image. I used a stippling method instead. )

Looks pretty good. What was your process for creating these images?

First I drew the outline of Master Chief in chalk (for both).
Then for the chalk I used a reference photo to create all the detail and shading.
For the scratchboard, I still used the reference photo, but then to create the different tones and detail, I used stippling. I just used a pin and pricked the surface to remove a tiny amount of the black. For the parts that are pure white I didn't stipple, I just scratched the black away.
