After reach bungie could make a game where the UNSC actually go and kill covenant on there own planet rather than just defending human planets.

Why would they?

The barely have the manpower and ships to defend the colonies as it is. The only offensives they launch are on the ground, or special ops, such as the Spartan 3s destroying that Covenant refinery.

Because humans never actually went to attack the Covenant on their own planets (Besides sending some Spartan 3's to that Covenant production facility). Doing so would have almost certainly be suicide, and a waste of perfectly good troops & equipment.

Except that Bungie isn't making anymore Halo games, and that would be a pretty lame story. What type of plot twists would there be? More flood?

No thanks.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

They didn't know the locations of any Covenant planet.

I used to get on these forums back in the Halo 1, anticipating Halo 2 days...I'm back :)

Because they had a hard enough time beating them when they were fighting for Humanity itself. A whole offensive? No. Troop morale wouldn't be high enough, they wouldn't have enough troops, and the only way they consistently win battles is a ground war, and that is unlikely, especially since most of the battles would be naval. And if you read the books, the humans rarely won Naval battles.

It would be a waste of resources. What Humanity needs to do after the war is rebuild and start over; expand once again.

in the books, the spartans were about to go attack the covenent ad take thier prophet, but just before they left, Reach was attacked, so they couldn't go. Plus the level the storm is all about the humans offensive against the coventent

We're never what we invent or intend.

BECAUSE of the following reasons:
[A] The Covenant don't HAVE a homeworld. High Charity wasn't revealed until the Delta Halo conflict
[B] The UNSC doesn't have enough men, ships, equipment, etc. to take away from the defensive effort, let alone send on a suicide mission
[C] Because it's a cliched concept, and one that would be chock-full of lameness.

Yes it is spelt like that on purpose.

Unless they make it between Halo:CE and Halo 3 it woundn't make much sense because after Halo 3 the war pretty much ends, if I am not mistaken. Maybe it could be some secret ONI op or something like that but I don't think it would be a very good plot idea.
