Halo Reach was announced this year but had been being made for 1-2 years, Most of these posts with ideas are probably too late to be added to the game as we have heard about it way too late, who agrees that bungie should of opened up for ideas but not necessarily said it was about Reach if anyone gets what i mean.

It Doesn't Matter!!!

Just let 'em do their thing.

They could still add things to the game. We don't know 100% if they can but IW was doing that with Modern Warfare 2. They had all their stuff down and then asked what the community would like and added stuff in if they liked it. Bungie could just be doing it differently by using this forum instead of twitter.

but with MW2 they have been making it for about 1 year and then it gets released, Reach is now on its 2nd-3rd year of being made, it seems too far in for quite a few things that peolpe say

People have been posting on the Halo 3 forums (and other places) for two years what they think is good/bad with the game. All they have to do is take that criticism and apply it to Halo Reach.

FYI, MW2 has been in development for two years. CoD4 was developed by Infinty Ward, WaW by Treyarch, and MW2 by Infinty Ward again. The next Call of Duty game that gets released next year will be developed by Treyarch again. Each CoD game has a development cycle of two years.

Actually the IW games are every 2 years. IW released CoD4 in 2007, Treyarch released CoDWaW in 2008 and now IW is releasing MW2 in 2009. Treyarch is working on another title which releases in 2010, at least that is what is assumed.

The guy above me edited his post while I was typing mine.

We go through this with every halo... they don't announce it for a while, generally a year-year and a half into production. Its just the way they are, and if this game follows the halo trend, we'll probably have a vidoc or two, 20-30 pictures and some multiplayer info about the game before release, nothing else.

yeah, but they did do a good job not letting anyone know anything about this game ever for the last two years.

Don't forget we get a multiplayer beta. Notice how it is a BETA too. That means "not finished, still has things to work out."

Personally i'm not huge on the whole "develop based on feedback" mindset, as most of Halo2 and 3's balance issues have stemmed from Bungie trying to please their fan base. They should make a game that they feel is solid, and not worry about pleasing groups of people.

That would make things worse. They're making the game for us, the fans.

Hey

Just let 'em do their thing.

I actually think the ideas some people come up with are interesting to read about, I agree with this post.

Considering the first game was arguably their best, with the most balanced gameplay and an actual skill curve, and it didn't rely on fan feedback, I trust their ability to make a great game. It's when they start trying to please everyone that things start to get crappy.
