Brutes didnt have anything to do with Reach, so why do people think they should be in the game?

Because they're r'tards and have no idea how unbalanced they would be.

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

Because it's another whole set of enemies to kill

Brutes have probably been retconned into general encounters pre-2552

and them having nothing to do with Reach is not canon as it was never stated explicitly

un balanced how ? it wouldnt matter since your just fighting AI

Im a Brony, if you want to know more about mehttps://www.facebook.com/randy.norris.95 just ask.

actually that is not true they were in the Halo series the whole time they were just unknown to people until Bungie introduced them in Halo 2. So they really play a key role. They could be they own individual team in Reach I don't know we have to wait and see. ^_^

They would be unbananced in Multiplayer, because Brutes are over 9 feet tall.

Guys it was a human, covanant engagement on reach

I hunt for the Prophet of Contentment, the San 'Shyumm that murdered my son, and stole his birthright, his Energy Sword. They call our species Heretics. They claim to all that our tongues sting, our words a vile poison that feeds on the unworthy. I have seen the true face of Heresy. The head of a gallant warrior lay on the ground. His neck scorched and blistered, scarred by his own blade. I shall retrieve the weapon, and drive it through that bastard's heart! Punishment for his sins is nigh.

Because Halo CE and Halo 2 were actually HARD games, and most people are wimps who couldn't beat them on Legendary.

because IT DID. get your facts straight buddy before posting.

Because it's a game like Bungie says and doesn't have to follow the exact guide lines of the book and multiplayer doesn't have to have the same stuff as the campaign. So even if there is no Brutes in campaign, they can still be placed in multiplayer to just give players another race to play as.

Actually even though it is a game, the canon is as set-in-stone as a series of movies or books. They really cant just change whatever they want.

I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about Campaign. And besides, Bungie down-sized Elites for Multiplayer, so why not Brutes too? I personally wouldn't like to see it, but I'm saying its possible if they wanted to.

Only if Bungie wises up and instead of hunching over the models, sizes them down, so it's actually balanced.

Go read Contact: Harvest. In case none of you guys knew this, Brutes were the first Covenant to ever have contact with humans. This happened on Harvest when the humans tried to speak with the aliens. Then they got in a fight and the whole Covenant juggernaut came and rayped Harvest.

That would actually be Jackals. Maybe you should re-read the book?

Not changing anything, just adding something. Just cause the book didn't mention any of them, doesn't mean there weren't any. There could have been plenty of battles or encounters that were not mention in the books. It's just a game, just like how Johnson was in Fire Fight, yet he was not on Earth during the events of ODST, but off with Chief, same concept can be applied to Reach.

This too, I read this book twice(the only one I ever did) and the first alien contact between Humans and Covenant involved Johnson and Brutes.

bungie has proven that a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of keyboards can randomly type out a masterpiece. the thing is, when you go to play the masterpiece, you cant help but notice all the monkey s**t smeared all over it.

it gets real old having to wait months for someone like mlg to clean off all the monkey poo.

Because it's another whole set of enemies to kill

more enemy types = better. however, the brutes now play exactly like elites. noob combo them, stick them, needler them. there is no point in having them in reach unless you do something to make them play differently.

canon or not, bungie can stick brutes into reach if they feel like it. they broke canon to take elites out of odst, they broke canon to save johnson who died at the end of h1. if they want brutes in reach, they will do it, no matter what storyline issues come up.

Your friendly and eccentric Sangheili forum-poster. :)

I have no problem with Brutes being in Reach personally, but I do NOT want them to continue to be Elite replacements. We definitely need the Elites to be in Reach, no excuses. No Buck, they are NOT more fun to fight than Elites.

To clarify, I meant that Brutes were the first Covenant to have some kind of spoken contact with the humans. Not just a firefight.

Make other the Elites rare encounters, or make the Brutes rare encounters. I'd want the Brutes to be rare encounters and to have a few changes made to them to have a better brutish feeling, similar to Halo 2, but superior.

I see.

My mistake.

"We jump Feet First into Hell"
"Spartans don't die, they're just missing in action"

I agree with that, Halo 3 on Legendary was EASY. But in Halo 2 I couldn't defeat a Ultra Elite and a couple of grunts with over 12 plasmas and a highly experienced Halo 2 partner!!!

I hated that bit on Cairo station where one comes out with dual wielded Plasma Rifles. That one was the worst. But all good fun :D

That's a common misconception. They actually can change whatever they want, being the writers.

The myriad of Halo creators have however followed the continuity of the Haloverse quite rigorously, really only two groups of introductions (Elite/Hunters, BR-55/M6C/Brutes) have ever been officially conflicted.

Let me repeat that only 5 conflicts exist in the entire continuity of the Halo universe and these are as simple as when certain things were first seen.
