Subject: Remove "Sticky Reticule" part of Auto Aim in Reach

I don't mind the bullet deviation part of the Auto Aim feature. I realize that it is necessary for successful multiplayer with controllers, but for the love of God, please disable the "sticky reticule" feature. Or at least an option in the Main Menu UI to turn the feature off.

I find it highly frustrating when I am trying to attack someone in front of me, an enemy happens to jump across my path, how my reticule will follow that enemy, and I will have to spend precious milliseconds adjusting my aim back to my intended target. Milliseconds that frequently cost me the final headshot. It is also very annoying when performing melee attacks as well.

Halo 3 is the only multiplayer game that I've played that has the sticky reticule feature, and doesn't have the ability for the user to turn it off. Halo is also the only game that I notice the sticky reticule feature in action. Does anyone know of any other Xbox 360 games that have this feature? I have yet to notice it in any other games other than the Halo series.

/ rant or w/e you want to call it.

I will always agree with an option for game play controlls. I dont see why not, like why i dont see why there is no option for first person vehical operation; it's not like its a advantage.

I think that assist was specifically for that game's mechanics. If I had no aim assist in ODST I can guarantee I would probably have died far more often.

Because Muslims surgically implant organic bombs in their testicles, which in turn will be injected into women during sex, which will grow into BABY BOMBS!

It doesn't bother me but yea, they should just add an option for those who wish to turn it off.

I think that they dont have first person vehical opperation because it would be a lot of work to make, and no one in there right mind would use it.

1- I't would not take any work to make

2- I would use it, even with the disadvantage; I think first person driving is vastly funner then third

Its a trap!!!

I think 3rd person vehicle view is actually an advantage over first person view. You get much better peripherals then you would in first. Also the objects you are using are big and I can see more obstrution hurting your veiw of things.

I don't see many liking this option if they tried it out for a bit

I agree with this. I just hate it when you're driving around and a random enemie pops out of nowhere and the recticle follows them.

Err. That would be another first person view of a dashboard, which is more work. Also, you'd have to have real-time reflections for a mirror.

That would mean aiming at your enemy would be as hard as aiming at your teammates. And it is hard.

  • 10.28.2009 7:57 AM PDT

Ah yes, I would love to be able to turn it off.

  • 10.28.2009 7:58 AM PDT

Du hast mich.

Look at it this way. You may feel like you don't need it. It's how I feel at times. But the thing is, everyone has adjusted to it. You know how hard it is to kill teammates in campaign?

The Stickey's are like magnets to the opposing team vs. the evasive effect on your team. Even with that I've stuck my team no problem in fact probally to easily

I don't want a complete removal of the Auto Aim feature, just the Sticky Reticule part. The bullet deviation part, where your reticule turns red and your bullets move slightly from their original course to hit your target, is completely fine.

When you go to shoot teammates you naturally don't have any type of Auto Aim at all. The sudden lack of auto aim will throw off your aiming because you are used to shooting with it.

I think moving my reticule with the target is highly annoying, and again, I wouldn't mind if the feature was included, but please at least add an option in the menu to disable it.

You thought you lagged, it took jesus three days to respawn, and even then he commit suicide

have you ever played the game RED FACTION 1 on the ps2?

the auto aim is crazy!when theres an enemy on the screen the reticule will automaticly aim at the enemy so multiplayer was easy!

first person is much more difficult, but more fun sometimes imo

So if everyone else had 8-bit graphics, you'de be fine with it too? If you say yes you're either lying or the most boring person ever.

SHOTGUN2FACE

This.

Option to turn off the sticky reticule? I say win.

I'm tired of having my screen dragged against my will because some enemy idiot decided to run across my screen. I mean, what the hell? Maybe I'm not ready to kill him yet. Maybe I'm running for a weapon before he gets to it. I don't feel like having my screen literally dragged out of my control.
