Subject: Remove "Sticky Reticule" part of Auto Aim in Reach

have you ever played the game RED FACTION 1 on the ps2?

the auto aim is crazy!when there is an enemy on the screen the reticule will automatically aim at the enemy so multiplayer was easy!

Never played Red Fraction 1, but I have played Red Fraction 2 although it was about 6 years ago that I last touched it. I didn't notice Sticky Reticule in that one, was it included?

Long live the Last Refuge!

I don't really care for it, but it can't hurt to add to the game.

I hope they at least add an option to disable, because, IMO, it is very annoying, and more frustrating than useful.

"You got 2 years of cl1t deepening you mean?"
"Uh. Wut?"

I dont see why there is no option for first person vehical operation; it's not like its a advantage.
I think that they dont have first person vehical opperation because it would be a lot of work to make, and no one in there right mind would use it.

1- I't would not take any work to make

2- I would use it, even with the disadvantage; I think first person driving is vastly funner then third

Err. That would be another first person view of a dashboard, which is more work. Also, you'd have to have real-time reflections for a mirror.

Well in the Halo 3 beta they had First person driving it was pretty damn cool. There was no dashboard etc, but it was still awesome.

I wish I had known about that at the time, I would have loved to drive a 'hog in 1st person.

“There is no hunting like the hunting of man, and those who have hunted armed men long enough and liked it, never care for anything else thereafter.” - Ernest Hemingway

I think we should have the option, because I too have a problem killing someone when an enemy walks in front of me and then I have to re-adjust and the opportunity has passed me by.

i dont notice it,
but heres a chance to flame everybody that runs across the screen, especially in team snipers, i'm sick of it!

but yeah making this an option or not having it at all cant do anything to harm the game. apart from making it more skillful, it cant change anything

I am very certain that everyone here would have a terrible time aiming without the "sticky reticule." I'm not trying to be elitist, and most MLGers would also have trouble aiming as well. The sticky reticule is important for counteracting the joystick's lack of precision. Without your reticule sticking to the enemy, only the best players would be able to consistently put shots on the enemy. It would take 2-3 clips for an average player to kill anyone unless that person ran in a straight line. I am almost for removing the sticky-aim because it would constitute a massive increase in individual skill, but, without a major overhaul of the weapons, the game would suck.

Fallout 3 lacks the feature you describe, and it is vastly harder to aim. I would support a vast reduction in it, down to Halo CE levels.

Also, Halo CE's reticule was more sticky than Halo 3. There were tests posted on the MLG forums. However, players moved faster and bullets were not attracted to enemies. These combined to make it seem like the reticule was less sticky. CE also had weapons with much larger clips relative to the number of bullets it took to kill (more kills possible per clip). So it did not matter if you missed 3,4 or even 10 shots with your AR, you could still kill your enemy without reloading or meleeing.

Edited for accuracy, spelling, and This

Wow awesome, thanks. I still would like to try the game without the reticule magnetism though. I'm interested in how it would affect the gameplay.

just kill the enemy that jumped in front of you?

Without the "sticky reticule" most games are reduced to spraying in the general direction of the enemy. Yes it allows for some annoyances, but what good feature doesn't have a downside too?
