Mike Lowery: [singing] Bad boys, bad boys what ya gonna do? What ya gonna do when we come for you?
[Marcus starts ad-libbing the first verse]
Mike Lowery: Dude, you gotta learn the words.
Marcus Burnett: We usually only do the chorus

as far as i and many other fans are concerned, halo wars does not fit into the halo canon and the inclusion of any halo wars vehicles would ruin reach

Regardless about you and those other "fans" are concerned with. Halo Wars is confirmed to be canon.

Deal with it.

the vehicles dont fit into the halo canon, the story is excusable but in terms of vehicles and technology it doesnt count

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

Well then you and many other fans are verifyably false.

Go ahead . . . try me.

none of the vehicles etc and most of the canon units dont fit into the halo timeline, humanity hadnt developed these things and even if they had prototypes they wouldnt give them to a ship tasked with mopping up a few covie troops on a glassed planet

Pathetic.

You just didn't see any before Halo Wars. Do you really think that the UNSC wouldn't have self-propelled anti-air missile systems or artillery guns?

Come on, give me a real challenge!

what the others said, plus, I'm sure the unsc didn't have heavy tanks (grizzly), different kind of helicopters and jets (hawks), and EMP weapons. (even though we, as of today the october 28th 2009, have such EMP weapons.)

  • 10.28.2009 5:20 PM PDT

It doesnt matter if its canon or not, all that matters is that the vehicles are in Halo Reach. Especially the Grizzly Tank and Scarab.

if you think about it it would be sweet to control a grizzly rather than a regular tank or operating a hawk rather than a regular hornet

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

It fits just fine within Halo canon. The discovery of the Flood before the discovery of Halo? Possible. Why? The Spirit of Fire never returned to UNSC controlled space to tell their story.

As far as the UNSC is concerned, the Spirit of Fire is MIA.

actually according to Bungie, all Halo Wars vehicles are infact cannon. the only part of halo wars that is not cannon is the spartan's shields that were added for gameplay. they are not present in cutscenes.

ALL vehicles, weapons, and technology for all factions are cannon. even the 3 surviving spartans. they are still alive in cryo by cannon story

That, or they weren't all that concerned about the Flood. Why does that never seem to occur to people?

Yes the Flood are horrific and an important part of the Halo story but as far as the crew of the Spirit of Fire are concerned they wiped them all out when they destroyed that shield world.

it's true, at the same time, the fact that the SOF never made it home that we know of means that humans never had a clue.

as for the covenant... well Regret was never someone for telling things to others.

I'm guessing that the Spirit did make it back, and in pretty good time considering. Some of the entries in the game's Halo Timeline seem to indicate ONI covering up the whole incident, it makes sense from a morale point of view plus ONI seems to want to keep the Forerunner ruins secret.

That's true about Regret, and I'm fairly sure that the Covenant know about the Flood so that they wouldn't be entirely shocked to find them. They think of them as the Forerunner's great enemy, a sort of Satan/demon equivalent. In Covenant teachings the Forerunners (God) of course defeat the Flood.

Either way canon is safe.

it's true, at the same time, the fact that the SOF never made it home that we know of means that humans never had a clue.

The SoF had to have made it back. 25 out of the remaining 28 Spartans were present at the Battle of Reach. The 3 missing are presumed Grey Team and the 5 others are Samuel, Kurt, Randall, and Sheila with the final Spartan likely the one "too wounded to continue active duty".

Evidence seems to point to the Spirit getting back to UNSC space and ONI covering up the whole Shield World incident.

BTW, the WIA Spartan is most likely Maria-062 from "Armor Testing".
