Halo in general is vary small scale; and just so I'm clear I think it should stay that way.

I don't know why but every thing look farther away on a TV screen. maybe it has to do with a life sized image on a 2 foot box, or maybe it's all your peripheral vision compacted on a TV screen. but like i said i don't know

-the Sniping part in the beginning of the level "The Ark" you are only 50m away from the brutes

-even the Big vehicle sections you are in a box canyon in a 25-75m wide canyon and the longest i have seen the canyon is also in "The Ark" is was the Scarab fight and that was about 400-500m from the doors to the cliff

- the pavement on Sand box is only 150m from end to end.

- Enemies don't render past 110m

and here are some weapons analogs from Halo

-(AR)MA5B which fires a 7.62x51mm would be effective at 600m "In theory"

-(AR) in game play the bullets disappear at 120m

-(BR) BR55 which fires a 9.5x40mm that is somehow at bore Bungie says it has to do with some future propellant but according to Bungie the BR is effective at 900m

-(Sniper) SRS99 which fire a 14.5x114mm would be effective at least 2km

and here are the Effective ranges and caliber of weapons today

Ak-47 300m 7.62x39mm
M-16 450m 5.56x45mm
HK G3 650m 7.62x51mm

Auto fire should still be inaccurate but if you fire in short controlled burst you should be able to hit what ever you see

what could make this run smoother is give the AR and SMG a zoom like the Silenced SMG in ODST

Um... I like Halo? I don't really know what to say. I'm a student at the moment, I hope to become a criminal profiler, and I enjoy pretty much everything as long as it's good.

You're thinking about this way too much dude.
