Subject: Trailer Question

Admin of Coup D Bungie

PM me any Coup questions you have.

I don't think I've seen this question asked before, but what is that flying debris from 0:30-0:37 in the Reach Trailer? It looks pretty banged up, almost like the frigate did at the end of the Legendary Ending. So do you think it's possible?

Destroyed frigate.

And before you ask, it is definitely NOT the Forward Unto Dawn.

If it were that there would only be an aft half, the one in the trailer clearly has a bow half as well.

Also you're ignoring the obvious.

This is about the Battle of Reach, not a Halo 3 sequel.

Well, it looks like Reach at the end of the Legendary ending. You can tell by the slight glimpse of the lights on the planet. Look pretty similar to me in both trailers. I guess the question is if he really did go back in time or not.

And it doesn't have to be the H3 sequel, Bungie could have just done an ending that described their next BIG game.

Sigh.

No, that is not the question.

The ending and the trailer are completely unrelated, except for the fact that they both feature a planet.

Well, there's some people who prescribe to the "MC Time Travels to Reach" theory and I'm sure they're looking for evidence. Therefore I was pointing out how the broken frigate in the trailer is not evidence.

I don't believe in such time travel non-sense anyway. The similar light patterns are an easter egg at best.

That theory is redundant anyways, so good to know you don't.

Believe me, I'm all for theories, as long as they aren't stupid and are actually believable.

In the days of old, there were legends of a land long lost to time. This land was known as Ranna'Mor. Ranna'Mor was said to contain in its borders 7 warriors. These warriors had once unleashed a veritable hell upon the ancient world, until they were locked away. My name is Toriad, and I am one of those warriors. Our return is approaching. Do not run away, do not cower in fear; take solace in your final days, for that is all we can do. -Legend of Ranna'Mor

The Legendary Planet is not Reach. Reach has a yellow sun, the Legendary planet has a blue sun. The lights are not evidence, they are just lights. Ever seen what a part of the earth looks like when facing away from the sun? Just like Reach or the Legendary planet. Bungie would not have the chief travel back in time. It happened once in first Strike, but that was a time anomaly caused by Forerunner Tech. Time travel now would be ridiculous and cause a paradox.

The ending of Halo 3 was just a way to bring the game full circle. The Chief starts in a cryo-pod, and ends in a cryo-pod. Microsoft and 343 Industries might expand from there in the future, but Bungie has no intention of making any more Halo games for the 360.

The legendary trailer at end can mean something or nothing, Halo 3 was made some years ago, the ending trailer maybe is a hint about an upcoming game: Halo: Reach, Master Chief maybe just flies past it to show us that its is Reach or another planet. The End

Perhaps, but unlikely. I don't imagine a glassed planet would have any lights on it.

See you on the battlefield.

Just because it looks like something, doesn't mean it's the same thing.

I grow tired of proving this theory wrong in thread after thread. For some reason, people seem to forget that there were obviously different ships of the same design. Here is also the part where the lesser minds throw in time travel, or the even more ridiculous theory that Reach and the Legendary planet are the same. They are not, and if you would like me to prove it I will.

Honestly, I noticed the lights on the planet look like the designs on the bottom of the Halo Installations. Perhaps it is a Forerunner colony? As for the ship in the Reach trailer, it can be one of two ship classes. One, a frigate. Three, a cargo vessel. It cannot be a cruiser, it doesn't have the right design.

Just a side note, I am hoping they show what happened to the UNSC's Supercarrier Trafalgar.

Oh, Death was never enemy of ours!
We laughed, knowing better men would come,
And greater wars: when each proud fighter brags
He wars on Death, for lives: not men, for flags.

Thank you for being sensible. I do think that the Legendary planet is of Forerunner design. Reach isn't

I also want to see the Trafalgar in action. Maybe even see the UNSC Hopeful?

Actually the game is probably going to take place before and during CE. Possibly after as well, if the game goes into the events of First Strike.

True but I highly Doubt it will go past the events of John getting in the Cyrotube, most likely the game will cover the events before and the battle of Reach.

except for Cortana setting the beacon and saying it would be years before they would be found, setting up a probably obvious discovery and rescue of the Chief.

That would make for a fairly short game, I think.

Go back and look at what happend before TBoR.

If you mean that you think Reach will include the events of The Fall of Reach, including Spartan training, and their missions previous to TBoR, then this is where we disagree.
I think that Reach will focus on the events taking place on, and in the space near, Reach. By which, I think it will include the events of FS pertaining to Reach.

Although, I am interested to see what Bungie does for the ending of Campaign, in either case.
