have any of u read all the halo books. because i finished halo:fall of reach. and and 40 pages away from finishig Halo:first strike. do i have to read any other halo books to know all the important stuff?

You should probably read Ghosts of Onyx. Contact Harvest is pretty good (gives a lot of info on Engineers and the original Covenant confrontations), as well as the Cole Protocol (backstory on the Arbiter and Captain Keyes), but they aren't that important in understanding the overall storyline.

Not really, those are the two books about Reach. Read the other books if you want to know most of other things in the whole Halo timeline and when which weapons existed and so on.
I found Ghosts of Onyx, The Fall of Reach and First Strike to be the most entertaining.
The Cole Protocol was the worst in my opinion. Only the Elite's storyline of it was interesting.
