"Help Help I'm being repressed! Come and see the Violence inherent in the system!"
"Bloody peasant!"
"Oh did you see that? you saw him repress me?"

Well, people who have read fall of reach will be needed for this. Firstly, the Spartan IIs are taken at the age of 6 and by about 14 they are fully battle ready. They have Moljanir <sp?> armour and all the training they get. Then in 2524, Harvest Falls and CPO Mendez goes to train a new group of Spartans. However, next time John is back on Reach after Sigma Octarnus IV, for his debreiefing anc Corporal Harland asks how he joined the Spartan Program, John thinks about CPO Mendez and realised that he hasn't seen him since 2525, and at that point its 2552! so why would it take 27 years to train a new group of Spartans? ok you do have to find them, but Dr. Halsey has been monitoring the first project from the start, and she is described "young and beutiful, for a civilian" by Keyes in the opening Chapter! And later she says "We have 150 subjects, and only enough funding for half that number". Ok say it does take time to find the Children, it wont take 27 years would it? anyones thoughts?

Stop spamming Maka! You should know better than that! j/k

I dont think it should take 27 years, but maybe it took a few years to get everything in order and scout out the new kids they will use. So maybe by 2552 the Spartan III's are close to the end of their training.

But it cant take 27 years to scout out kids! 14-6 = 8years of training, 27-8 = 19 years of searching. If you spent 19years of searching, then the kids would have grown up in that time, making them poor candidates!! It doesnt work does it??

P.S. i apolagise if the above doesnt make sense, i just dont no how else to put it!

They could have trained longer since there was a war going on and they couldnt stay on one planet. Or maybe they had lots more augmentations and stuff done to them that made the whole process of becoming a Spartan take longer. And also, they might not be in training anymore (in 2552), they could have finished with that years ago, and we just don't know about them yet.

But then ONI would've gone public with them. Look at the success of the Spartan IIs, before they volunteer for their major mission near the end, someone <think its Standforth> says that they have the best record! ONI would go Public and say: "Well now we've got new spartans, like the old ones in everyway except with a limited Edition pack!" <of they were selling them like toys> But seriously, they would go public!

Thats not for sure. Maybe there was something about these Spartans that they didnt want the public to know, or they didnt want to announce it in the event the Covenant could find out about them, which would give the UNSC an advantage. Its also possible that the Spartan III"s are just not as good as the Spartan II's, so they may not have gone public for that reason.

currently, I agree with all your theories, and see, that is the problem in itself.

its definately a case of us just needing one more smidgen of info and we would be able to piece things together and more succintcly, but I suspect that this is the place bungie is going to keep us in until release date, we are all just an inch from finding out what is going to happen. Go and read all the other forum threads, we are all so close, yet we still dont have firm facts or where things are going to go with the halo 2 story, or the mysteries we are all seeking to solve.

sorry for sounding pessamistic, I am just wanting halo 2 to come out............then we will know everything.

They could have been cloned, there are after all a lot of spartan dna files on Ackersons PC.
I dont give me this clone death -blam!- humans could still have perfected it in like 30 years or already had and kept in under wraps.
