As we know, Bungie are finished with halo after Reach ( i think Microsoft will do a good job but i think bungie would need to be consulted alot otherwise i dont see future releases being as good)

I was wondering is this also the end of Marty's invovlment in the music side of things. I feel his music is one of the main things that people associate with the halo experience and it will be for the worse without his talent...

opinions?

Proud frenchie, elite fan, anthro artist not hellbent on yiff convention/pics/whatever, mature and intelligent forum guy, 4chaner, halo 2 lover and halo 3 hater.

you know, other people than marty can make good music too.

I know it's a really shocking and unbelievable news.

Got Milk?

haha i look back at that post and its looks very fanboy doesnt it?

my point anyhow is that a part of the overall experience will ultimately be lost....iv listened to quite a few others take on halo themes and they all sounded disjointed and out of place...to be fair im a music freak so there aint no convincing me :):)

You mean you're actually reading my sig? Sweet jesus, this is a momentous occasion. I'd like to thank my family, my friends, my pet toad Trevor, and everybody else that played a part in me achieving this sort of thing! This is a monumental day for me; a justification for all those times people told me, "No! It's impossible! You can't do it!" and now I have done it. Somebody has opened my sig. This is the greatest moment in history.

Yes. The Music is a big aspect of Halo for me and it is one of the main things I realise, so having some continuity during the Bungie - Microsoft transition would help a lot, because I, like many people, want Halo to continue as it has gone on so far, I don't want Microsoft to come in and completely change the formula Halo has been built on for so long. I don't honestly believe that this will happen, but you see where I'm coming from. A Smooth Transition will be great.

I thought Stephen Rippy did a good job with the music in Halo Wars. As long as they keep the general Halo feel, i'm happy. It's nice to hear other peoples takes on the Halo series.

Don't hate... ...loathe.

I say no because I would prefer Marty to focus on Bungie projects.

Signatures are for squares.

Marty should stick with Bungie.

The man in charge of Halo Wars music did a good job however. As long as people can nail the style Marty has set up, We'll be fine.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

He is fine for background and score music.

Unfortunately, he hasn't had a good action song since Halo CE.

Bring in another composer to work with him, to specialize in combat music, like Basil Poledouris (if only), Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky, Kevin Riepl, or Frank Klepacki.

ICE ICE BABY

After Halo Reach if it all is true about Microsoft 343 taking over I will not buy another Halo game. I refuse to pick up a Halo FPS and not see bungie. I say FPS because Bungie would've botched Halo Wars. It's just not their thing. But if Microsoft 343 makes Halo: Forerunner of Halo 4 I won't buy either

I am looking forward to seeing Bungie's new IP, so that Marty has new context for his compositions.
