Yeah, It´s raining in Halo 3 ODST but not quite much as you hopped for. And I cant hear the rain... WTF? Why not mix with the Rain... Make it sometime rain more and sometime less. The thunder is really great.

You mean you're actually reading my sig? Sweet jesus, this is a momentous occasion. I'd like to thank my family, my friends, my pet toad Trevor, and everybody else that played a part in me achieving this sort of thing! This is a monumental day for me; a justification for all those times people told me, "No! It's impossible! You can't do it!" and now I have done it. Somebody has opened my sig. This is the greatest moment in history.
I'd love a level with a real gritty feel about it. Imagine, a dismal, rainy, muddy field. The weather should definitely be more prominent.
With music, Rain, thunder and so on, raises the gameplay very much.Imagine a snow climate level, when it snows alot, you play in a snowstorm... with white warthogs.

There should definitely be more weather effects in Reach's campaign! Maybe some in multiplayer too as long as they don't disrupt gameplay. You should be able to add the weather effects in forge. Some weather effects could be wind, rain, heavy rain with thunder, sandstorm, fog, thick fog, and snowing. You could only have a max of two running at once so that the game doesn't lag, and so that you don't have really insane weird weather.[Edited on 10.30.2009 11:07 AM PDT]
They could not but attaul rain in ODST for desgin reasons, they could only but rain SOUND.

Weather? Eh, I wouldn't mind seeing climate.
I used to get on these forums back in the Halo 1, anticipating Halo 2 days...I'm back :)
The hell is wheather?
Bungie said that the Halo 3 engine could not do rain, and ODST just had the sound of rain to give the effect. Reach as we know will use a new engine so it is possible we will get a proper rain effect in Reach.

But it's all cause of sound and effects we actually see and hear.

The engine couldn't do falling rain so they got as close as they could.More weather might be nice, butr it dosen't mean it'll work well, it'll be a real pain to not be able to see a grey enemy because of fog

Big Team Battle Multiflag/Slayer on Standoff/Valhalla/Sandtrap/Avalanche = Win
Im not sure about this, some games have that gimmicky rain that goes straight through the ground and has no effect on the environment and the player besides a slightly distorted view.
Well it could possibly be the same thing. It's not really "programmed" rain. It's most likely Effects and sound. You can see rain just in bungie's aspect they say it isn't "programmed" rain. I'm not sure if it was different from ODST and probably did support rain but I'm not sure if they are any different.

I'm stating it's not programmed. Yes you can see it. But it's not exactly true rain. Basically it's just effects (probabbly some kind of streaming effect) and sound that made it a raining aspect. Which is why we have no multiplayer rain levels in halo 3. It's because the halo 3 engine doesn't support rain. I'm just telling you it's fixed into it.
I think default MP maps should have random weather effects. Each effect would slightly alter the game play.Maybe in forge you can decide what specific conditions you want in your map to appear.

This would be nice.
