Why so we cant boot people like you that grief other players? Constantly..?
No. Just no.
Its good the way it is.
Not only is this not the greatest idea ever for Reach, but it is a terrible idea in general. Misleading title = lock.
It's too vague to be terribble. In fact, he's right in the money.
Too many times have abandoned ghosts flown into teammates and got me kicked.
The boot system is made up of recorded data of previously played games and your behavior in these games. If you've played 20 games in the past day, and out of those 20 games, you've either been kicked or quit out of half or more of them, the next time you betray someone the boot prompt will pop up for them.
So if you "accidentally" kill someone with a ghost, but youve betrayed people 11 out of the last 20 games and have been booted, that person will have the chance to kick you again. Its based on patterns of behavior. If you only ever "accidentally" betray people, you dont have to worry about this.
The only people who ever complain about the boot system are people who always betray people and then get kicked as a result of it. Either dont betray people, or if they do it to you first.. let it go, or wait til they do it again.. sometimes a 3rd time is necessary if they hardly ever commit the crime.. then you can boot them.
Interesting I should find you here, homeboy. Still agitated that I disproved of your hip hop in Reach idea? Get over it.
Anyway, like I said, the boot system needs a FIX. Not an entire overhaul. It works for me sometimes, but I've had enough of getting betrayed for weapons, and then, when I don't even mean to kill the jackass that betrayed me (read as: he walks into one of my plasmas like an idiot), he gets the prompt to boot me INSTANTLY. I agree with the behavior idea. If you never betray then betray once, you shouldn't get booted. But what happens when that person betrays THREE times in ONE game. I think that's a little off.
It should be a system of Forgive and Punish (I forget what game it was in.) You can choose to forgive someone if they kill you (by accident, of course), but you can punish someone if they betray you on purpose. Three "punishes" equals a boot. It would solve the problem of sometimes being able to boot somebody and sometimes not being able to boot somebody and not having a computer system determine it.
The punish system wouldn't work.
With that system, people who like to betray every game (whether for power weapons or just for fun) would have two opportunities to betray every game. It wouldn't stop the betraying; it would actually promote betraying because people would realize they could betray without consequence twice per game.
The reason why there are people who can betray 2 or 3 times before getting booted is because they haven't played Halo in a few days or weeks. The real fix the system needs is to count the last 25 or so games you play into account when determining whether or not to give the option to boot. That way, people who haven't played in a while would still have to be careful of betrayals.
