Subject: NO Map Remakes

if you have any questions about halo i am one of the few people on this site who will gladly help you. Even though this account has been active for only a year, my past accounts go all the way back to 2002.

I think Bungie should put all their effort into making entirely new maps that add to the new additions in the multiplayer. Of course there can be spiritual successors IE Valhalla to Coagulation or Guardian to Lockout. Remakes are a good idea to true sequels like halo 2 and 3 which have the same gameplay but if something is new (it will be) in reach then remakes would be out of place.

I bet you disagree. tell me why.

I think Bungie should invest a good portion of their time an energy into making Forge into something amazing so that the crazy people who want their remakes (and are too lazy to dust off their old disks) can actually make them for themselves.

if you want to play the old games pop them in your console. Otherwise leave new games to new content.

my opinion

What about Far Cry 2's editor? I never played the game but from what I saw and heard the editor was very easy to use and powerful.

That's a really good idea. I never thought of that.

Awesome isn’t just a word. Awesome is a way of life. Awesome is a way of war. Teamwork matters the most. Lone Wolves jeopardize the missions. Teamwork is key. Resistance is futile. The covenant fear us, not the other way around. We don’t fight for Earth. We don’t fight for Reach. We fight for the good of mankind because we are A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Alpha Wolf Elite Squadron Ordinary Mammals Electrocuted. Click the Homepage.

I disagree and agree, because think of all the awesome Halo 2 maps that we'll never see again. Ive been waiting to play Headlong for a year.

Now maybe they could make a "Deja Vu Mappack" containing remakes. That's a way this could work.

...

I agree, but maybe for other reasons than most.

I dont know if any of you have creative jobs but i would think the Bungie artists prefer testing their skill and wits with every map/game they make.

No artist really wants to visit old or other peoples original work again. Being a musicman (a bad one) myself i really don't see the satisfaction of doing covers of other peoples song, or even remix my own. :P

So as the unselfish person that i am, i say explore your horizons Bungie and give us all new hawtness for Reach, and have a blast makin it.

--PC Games--
Halo: Combat Evolved
--Xbox 360 Games--
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo Wars

Several maps could be remade...

I.E. High ground, Last Resort, Guardian, The Pit, and Valhalla BACK TO Blood Gulch.

I'm just hoping for those five, plus say maybe 10-15 new maps?

I wouldn't mind remakes later in the games life, but I'd rather have original maps ship with the game.

Eat raw meat.
Punch a bear in the face.

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

I think some maps deserve to come back, like Headlong, High Ground, Terminal, Last Resort, and Heretic. If maps are fun, they should be brought in so players can keep having fun on good maps along with brand new ones.

I think Bungie should fully focus their efforts on new maps for Reach, but once the game is out, an easy way to make money for themand us happy would be to just remake all Halo CE/2/3 maps in DLC, slightly redone for Reach.

number 2 friends get dominated

i would agree with you to an extent

if bungie can make maps that are quality i will be fine without any remakes. many maps in halo 3 were just pitiful. i really only enjoy playing on about 5 so the other 23 are just overkill for me. if they can make new maps that have good play balance and are inviting to players then i am fine with that
if they cant, remake good maps for the love of god

[gold text] Trust me when I tell you this, Halo: Reach's "forge" feature will satisfy everyone from the most infrequent forgers who didnt know Sandbox had a sky bubble, to the guys who remade some of our Halo 2 favorites better than we ever could. You'd pay $60 for this game if it was an MMO, and Im not referring to matchmaking. [/gold text]

Signatures are for squares.

Halo 2 shipped with 12 maps. 2 of them were remakes of Halo CE maps. (Beaver Creek, Headlong.) One of the maps was a remake from Marathon Durandal. (Foundation)

Halo 2 had even more remakes appear in mappacks. (Elongation, Warlock,Tombstone,Desolation.) And Another marathon Remake, (Gemini)

That's a total of 8 remakes. Halo 2 had 23 maps.

Halo 3 shipped with ONE remake. (Last Resort) [halo 2]

Over the map packs it got a few more remakes. (Avalanche, Cold Storage, Heretic)

Only 5 of the 24 maps are remakes.

I would like for Halo Reach to ship with two remakes. And have atleast 10 new maps.

Hopefully the game will end with a total of 25 maps or so, and 7 or so will be remakes.

I'm the cult of personality,
I call it like i see it, if i feel the need to be blunt and to the point, then i will, if i feel the need to be very detailed, i will, im here to stay and im here to do things my way, if you respect that or not is your choice, not mine,
and don't worry, while i don't agree with everyone's opinion, i do respect everyone's opinion.
