Not that Bungie will impliment this, but I feel there should be a small filter applied for people to use while searching for games. Specifically one to deal with the large split between AR and BR start supporters.

There are two ways to go about this. Either split the MM into two separate areas, both containing ranked and unranked playlists where one uses BR starts, another does not. Or, have a MM filter menu when you enter a playlist and have yet to start search with possibly three fields of selection called Map Type, Gametype, and Weapon Set. These would be very simple selections as to keep MM at its maximimum possible speed for finding matches.

Map Type
- Large
- Medium
- Small
- All

Gametype
- Default
- Modified
- MLG
- All

Weapon Set
- Default
- Modified
- MLG
- All

These would allow for a more customized matchmaking that would allow people to filter out gametypes they may not want to play in a more direct manner than Vetoing allows. Even a veto will bring up gametypes people want to avoid, sometimes the same gametype and only a different map.

EcksBocks Laiv?

or, instead of your idea which would split the population and make certain playlists too underpopulated to even exist, bungie could just fix the br and ar

or leave the AR and BR alone, and keep MM the way it is now.

I personally don't think the BR will be in Reach anyways, but this is a compromise. I am tired of every playlist being weighted to BR starts a majority of the time. I can't even play a game of CTF without BR starts anymore. I don't entirely hate the BR, but I do hate stale gameplay and the BR defines it. I hate even more that I can't make the choice to use it, but because of its overpowered nature I HAVE to use it to compete or limit myself to crawling around corners and ambushing (which I don't mind doing, but its fun to try other things).

So, why not just make filter for default and non default gametypes? It could be as simple as that being the two toggles. Force default or not in a gametype, only splitting the community two ways.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

The only filter I want is for region.
