I loved the clans in Halo 2 because of the way you felt when being a part of. Would anyone else like to see a return of the Halo 2 Clan system or a completely new one?

I don't care either way.

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

No.

1. I wouldn't use it.
2. Few people used Halo 2's Clan system.
3. As it stands now, Xbox Live doesn't support it.
4. Halo 2's clan system was easy to manipulate, boost, and grief.

I can tell you already you'll get some forumgoers who will cry, "XBOX 360 doesn't support clans!" I've seen it every time clans are discussed, and these people have no clue what they're talking about.

The H2 system was nothing more than a glorified friend's list, but it was much more convenient than what we have now...which is nothing. It's relatively simple to implement, doesn't need xbox support per se, and is at least some form of organization. I think it would be great.

1. A lot of people would

2. I disagree, but neither of us can really prove our ideas, so it's a moot point.

3. ....yah, XBOX didn't support clans either. You're telling me Bungie could implement a clan system on a console that didn't have clan support, but on the next gen console Bungie can't implement the same thing again? We're not talking about having it accessible in other games or on the dash, this is a game specific clan system...like H2.

4. I'll agree on this point. You could leave a clan easily, create your own clan with you and your second account as members, and do whatever. If it's just a system for helping people group together, not anything that goes towards a ranked playlist (unless clan matches were randomized like the current MM, not where you can choose what clans to face off against) it wouldn't be hard to implement without too many negative aspects. IMO, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

This topic of choice has been repeated many times. owever, I'd like to see a very nice clan system fro Halo Reach, maybe the best one ever too.

1. That may be.
2. I don't have proof. I was regurgitating a Shishka saying from another thread on this topic.
3. Xbox didn't support a lot of things. It had no structure outside of the games. The 360 does. This could make Clans for one game impossible to implement, hard to implement, or have no effect at all. I don't know, and Bungie said that is the reason why.
4. There are security measures that could be put into place, like keeping track of how many clans a gamertag has joined. It could be made to work, my issue is I get little benefit out of it and would rather the resources be spent on something that I would use, like more maps or better netcoding, or a Region Matchmaking filter.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that some type of clan system could be implemented. It may not have a lot of bells and whistles (just like H2's system), but they could make some kind of organization. That being said, the less beneficial it is, the less it will be used, and therefore could be a waste.

I agree with your quote above. For H3, if you wanted to join a clan you just went online and joined a forum or something, then added people to your friend's list. It was actually better this way, as you could much more easily interact in a forum with many people as opposed to LIVE. So unless Bungie was able to add quite a few more benefits beyond just a shell of a clan system, I don't see the point in repeating H2's. However, Bungie could implement at least that much. That's all I was trying to point out.
