Fight for what you believe in!

I heard somewhere that fully customizable controller configurations were not possible. However, I would like the bumper jumper layout to return in Halo Reach. There are a couple things that I have problems with.

1. It is very difficult to use bumper jumper while duel wielding and attempting to jump/reload quickly.

2. When flying the banshee, shooting the fuel rod cannon and boosting is difficult.

Use default configuration, it's perfect for anything.

How long does it take you to move your thumb an inch to the A button from the right analog?

Bumper Jumper is not meant to be used for dual weilding and flying banshees, it ment for single weapon fighting styles. Try other layouts tho. I hope they dont change Bumper Jumper cause of this reason.

You just need to adapt to the buttons, I used to have difficulty boosting and flying the Banshee but now I don't, becuase I fly it often. As for dual weilding, it is very hard to use with Bumper Jumper, I personally don't use it so it does not really effect me much. Just practice with it.
Also, Bumper Jumper was meant to be the "Default" for Halo 3 because of the new controllers and bumper buttons, but because more people are acustomed to Default they kept it in.
I highly doubt they will change the Bumper Jumper scheme.

Custom controls aren't possible? Damn, somebody go tell The Orange Box, it's going to be disappointed.

I think what they should do is swap the A button for the X button. So that grenade switch/reload second weapon is on X, and equipment is A. It would give a better sense of organisation on the controller IMO.

Nosy little sucker aren't you?

They should make fully customizable controls, I can't fathom what could be stopping them from it. One action is mapped to one button, it's pretty simple. Tried getting used to Bumper Jumper but it didn't seem to help that much and it was just too different from what I was used to. GoW and Halo have remotely similar default control schemes so I have no problem switching from game to game.

You would actually have more then one action per button. Some buttons would have 2.
