in typical team match making, you play as either the red team or the blue team. but this can get annoying, since it takes away the fun of customising your armour. what is the point in taking the time if you are just going to end up in red or blue?

so my idea is instead of having the whole armour red or blue, just have parts, so you do feel more unique in matchmaking, and can spot out your enemies easier...

Agreed. I think there should be the "armor detail" section from Halo 3 in Halo: Reach, and it would be the thing that turns red or blue. If that isn't visible enough, people would be able to distinguish who is on their team by the icons over their head.

Duty, Honor, Country

and have a billion different colors running around the map? It would be too confusing. Bungie made it red vs blue so that enemys and friendlies could easily be identified, with no confusion on what team you are on. If you dont know, look down at your leg. Its your team color.

Look out.... -boom- (headshot)
I told you to look out, but know, you got in my way, was going to shoot that splaser....

I think red team was one of the two choices because if(in RL) you'd bleed it wouldn't look like they were bleeding, thus giving your enemy the thought that your invincible and a rally point for your allies, which is what has been done many times in the past.
Now,Customizable armor is fun, and I'd actually like to see my custom armor color in Team Slayer, mine is brown so that way, when Im in a free for all, I can hide in the rocks with the sniper rifle and blend in. :D

It would also be nice if you could customize the armor used in the campaigns this way. That would give a little variation to it and make it a little more worthwhile as opposed to the same old design everytime you play the game.

Nyan nyan, nyan nyan, ni hao nyan! Gorgeous, delicious, deculture!

You mean where only the primary colour is changed to the teams colour? It was like that in Halo 2, and I'm all for it.

I think silent tiger hits it on the head best.

Just keep it the way it is IMO.
