no offense 'stosh', but I don't think you're funny

No offense, but I don't think you're the armor 'king'.

I'm burrowing my friend's Halo 2 game and I noticed on the back that it has a lot of minor scratches, the game loads, but not the maps OR the campaign, the game worked fine at my friend's house. What is wrong? Does anyone have a solution?

Wow, no Campaign? You have to solve that problem first. Wash the disk with mild soap and hope.

How does it load if maps and Campaign do not? You mean you get to the profiles and then nothing?

Halo 2 for Life!

Re-download all the maps but if it's still really bad just buy a new disk (or you most likely will continue to have problems).

I can go on LIVE and when I look for a match, it just take me back to the lobby and says "You failed to load map".

I did re-download them and it worked fine on my friend's Xbox 360

And also, I do not own an Original Xbox so I use my 360.

Your Xbox cannot read the disc, if it works on your friends Xbox that means your friend's disc drive lens is cleaner and can read the disc better.

You can try this:
1. Clean the disc with water (or something else)
2. Clean your disc drive with this, there are small brushes on the disc which clean the lens as the disc spins.
3. Get a copy of Halo 2 in better condition.

Ah okay, thank you for the tips, but there are a few problems though...
1. Already tried, even tried the toothpaste thing, didn't work.
2. Parents won't allow me to purchase anything online.
3. It is my friend's game, I'm not sure if he'll let me do that.

Ok, but the Campaign thing is odd.

If you are on H2 Live then you went through the H2 Menu to get there. That must mean you did the update and you got to the 'Content Download' page where you get all four map packs for free, correct?

If you downloaded map packs from a disk you did not get all maps. If you already downloaded all map packs at some point then you need to go to Dr. WE1RD's thread. You need to get rid of what you have already done and re-download.

Problem solved, I have done some of the tips from Dr. WE1RD's thread and I believe it was the family settings.

Good! Enjoy some Halo 2 campaign, it's amazing. And after that enjoy some Halo 2 on Xbox LIVE.

Yay I am helping!!

90% of the time the disc itself is not the issue, it is something much more minor than that.
