My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Without that spot the only way to kill them would be Rockets, Fuel Rods, Laser, Missle Pod, tons of 'nades, and vehicle splatters.

My third montage!

I remember the hunters in Halo: CE on legendary. They were meant to be feared. I think they worked together better in Halo: CE's campaign than they do in Halo 3's. They should be devastating. A true Juggernaut.

Halo: CE Legendary...

Grunts > Hunters

Hunters had TWO moves in that game. A laughable and slow melee attack and a slow fuel rod cannon.

magnum>hunters in halo ce. i mean a gun thats a sidearm[a powerful one at that] could beat what are supposed to be unstopable monsters. come on now!

  • 11.01.2009 11:31 AM PDT

hunters should mostly be slow, but be able to charge. if the charge hits you it should be an instant kill

Rockets should be the only true anti-Hunter weapon in Reach. Aside from the more obvious stuff like tanks (because they beat everything) and the Splaser if it is in Reach.

I say, lets make the Hunter bigger, tougher and faster and then it'll inspire fear, huh? Maybe instead of just using their Scarab gun, that some may have other attachments, like Fuel Rod Cannons from Halo 3, not from Halo 1 though.

NO GROUP INVITES!!!

Faster Hunters, maybe more health but not so much armor, make them switch beetween bolts and beams, that'd be "fun", as you can't know what its going to use... Also, they need to tower over the players, seriosly. Of course the camera is too high in Halo 3...

But most importantly, improve the AI. Halos are supposed to have good AI... frankly i don't see it. ODST supposedly had enchanted AI... But i certainly didn't notice it.

in ODST the AI just doged stuff better.

Make grenades bounce off of them. Right now all I have to do is nade the hell out of them. They would be tougher if spike and plasmas just didn't stick to them but fire grenades should still work because they don't appear as often

Agreed. I was on the ark playing the part where you face the two hunters. I killed one i got some nades and snuck behind the ramp. He ran at me and i side stepped, he fell right of the cliff

in reach they should be support for other covenant and if you take cover, they should just bombard you with suppreing fire.

The Halo 3 Martyrdom

Don't give them those crappy melee moves. That's what makes them so vulnerable.

in reach they should be support for other covenant and if you take cover, they should just bombard you with suppreing fire.

This. Put a bunch of Covenant in front of them, lets say a few squads of Grunts and some Elites. Then put the Hunters in the back.

I agree, do not give them crappy melee moves but, rather, good ones! Also, Hunters can be and are used as both support and frontline infantry.

hunters annoy me, not scare me.
I don't think they need extra health, but make them pissed when their bond brother dies, and make them smarter would be good.
They were easier to kill in ODST. Don't know why... perhaps it was because you could head-shot them.
A mixture of gold and blue hunters in reach would be good [for those who don't know, Gold hunters are different because they only fire normal fuelrods]

I am a Halo 3 Failure.

Hunters should be smart enough to smack away Frag Grenades, and possibly try to smack a Rocket away as well.

All of the enemies need to be beefed up in general, methinks.

Elites need to be brought back as enemies, and even then they need a redesign to stop them from looking like stupid dinosaurs. See: This

Jackals need to look... less retarded. I thought that this was a pretty cool design.

Grunts should still be funny in a cowardice sort of way, but I do think that they need some more menacing dialogue from time to time. I was quite fond of this design for the Grunts.

I pretty much agree with the first post regarding Hunters, but I think that, again, they need a more intimidating design. I can't find any designs that people have done though, so perhaps i'm in a minority.

I'd like to see Hunters deflect Rockets and Grenades more often though. That's something that'd make me crap myself.

Also, while I was looking for those pictures, uh, lets just say that Jackals have been Rule 34'd. Now, i'm off to get some eyebleach.

well if you think back to the first encounters with them like in halo and halo 2 it felt pretty suspenseful the battle was pretty tense because the hunters changed from halo 1 to halo 2 so it was different im just saying i remember them being dangerous i wasnt really scared the first times faced them
