Something smells fishy...

I know I've posted inquiries concerning Haloded before. I don't know what's wrong this time. I've forwarded ports:

TCP 80 and UDP 2302, 2303.

I have set the client and server ports to 2304, 2305 in the network settings of Halo 1 PC.

But my Haloded server does not appear on the Gamespy list. Although I can join my server using directip.

I'm using Windows 7. I am wondering if it's the Windows 7 firewall that's blocking Haloded.

Yes, I am a hypocrite, and I'm sorry. I really do mean well, but I'm not running on all cylinders.

Everytime someone buys a copy of Halo 2 Vista, a puppy dies.

I only know about Windows XP firewall, where going into the Windows Firewall settings and "add port" 2302 UDP made the server app accessible to others on the internet. If you haven't configured Windows Firewall this way before, give it a try.

I configured my firewall. It's very much different from the Windows XP firewall.

My firewall has all the ports and haloded.exe "allowed."

I attempted to run haloded and it indeed showed up on the Gamespy server list. But then I had to stop the server and exited it. When I restarted the server it did not appear on the Gamespy list.

What I've been doing is:

1. My OS won't allow me to modify the target data of a shortcut to haloded. What I've added to the haloded (non-shortcut) application, in the name box, is: haloded -exec init -port 2307.
2. Remove haloded.exe from the "inbound" section of my firewall.
3. Start up haloded.
4. Allow private and public network access when prompted.
