Why is the visor on a Spartan for me black Its not gold like in the xbox version and nothing is shiny like the xbox version. All the armor is just a solid color. Is it my computer or is it supposed to look like that?

right click on your desktop, click the "settings tab", and it will say in a pull down box "Display on a ......." the ......... being whatever GFX card you have. Since you dont know, and Im assuming your comp is over a year or 2 old, you are probably running less than a 5200fx or equivalent, which would be the problem. May I point you to Coylter's sticky post at the top, even though he may be a little biased and opiniated :P

its definetly your graphics card.

If you get a 9600 xt youll have awsome graphics, but be warned that it doesnt work incredibly well on high resolutions then it does with low.

anything more expensive then this card and youll be able to play with high resolutions.

Well, there are plenty, but whats your price range? I can say right now you can grab a 9600xt w/128 mb of ram for $200cdn (which is..........$150 US), or you could get a 9550, which is like $100us, which is basically a declocked 9600pro. Of course, there is the 9600pro which is in between. If you plan on playing any other games besides Halo PC, I highly suggest grabbing one of these cards if you have the money. If not, you can always get a 9200 for like $50, or a nvidia5200 for $75.

check in the command line to see if you have pixel shaders turned off. if you do it shold look something like this c:\program files\microsoft games\halo\halo.exe -useff
if it does change -useff with -use11 for pixel shaders 1.1 or -use20 for pixel shader 2.0
i would reccomend using pixel shaders 1.1 with your video card( i have the same one and i ues 1.1 shaders and it works a charm)
