Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time. I know who you are. You are destiny.
Now that I'm back from my *exile* (read: butthurt) from this forum, I've found a lot of pretty good people around. This isn't the Maw anymore (not like it used to be anyhow) but it's a very nice spot to be in again because of certain old and new members around. And, if you ask me, we should go ahead and make a list of the XFire names of every good member who lurks here and gather up for a good game of Halo PC every now and then. I'll be starting out with mine, and be adding others accordingly, based on who wants to post his/hers, and I'll be updating the list as it goes. Who knows, we might get something done!
EDIT!!!
>Anyone wishing to include their name on the Xfire list can post it in this thread; I will add it in, sooner or later. See end notes for details...

Xfire: The Definitive Guide
It's the standard, everyday problem among gamers everywhere. You want to play on the same online server as your friend, you both have the same game, but you don't have a way to communicate and locate the same server. Oh, sure, the phone works as well, but who wants to bother with all the fussing around dialing numbers anyways?
Enter Xfire. The self-proclaimed "Instant Messenger for Gamers" costs nothing and enables you not only to chat with other gamers using Xfire, but has a nifty direct-connect feature that will allow you to join into the server of any fellow gamer on your buddy list, provided the server isn't full and you also have the same game.
In addition, Xfire also supports most of the features your standard Instant Messenger system supports, namely, VoIP communication (that can also be used in-game), a fully featured buddy list including block options, customizable, easily viewable profiles akin to AIM custom away messages, and the ability to group contacts on your buddy list.
But first, the basics. Once Xfire is downloaded, installed, and your account is fully registered and activated, simply log in and begin using it as you would any other Instant Messenger. You may have a preliminary buddy list of several people. These are people who have begun using Xfire at around the same time you have and who therefore inexplicably appear on your buddy list. Delete them to make room for your real friends. Why not start by adding a few fellow Maw frequenters? (See Below)
The default Xfire skin has been changed to the new, slicker-looking Shadow theme. Relatively easy to use, the left-hand side of the list of friends you have includes tabs (from up to down) for Friends List, Chat Rooms, Recent and Favorite Servers, Downloaded Files (includes game updates; Xfire auto-updates as well), Screenshots (to check out and upload any and all screenshots you want from those you have taken in-game), and Videos tab (similar to the screenshot tab).
The third button, makred with a gamepad, is the key feature of Xfire, the Join Game button. Say your friend "sniperwaffle" is playing a round of Halo, indicated by the game icon and his status next to his name on your Contact list. Highlight his name on your contact list, and Xfire will tell you he's playing on "Unofficial B.net Maw Server" and that there are only 14/16 players on the server. Simply hit the Join Game button and Xfire will boot up halo, skip the intro screens and the main menu, and take you directly into the game. While happily fragging away, you can hit a (customizable when out of game) key combo to bring up the in-game Xfire main menu, with options to start chatting with a contact on your buddy list, hold a group chat, the works. All while in game.
Also useful is the VoIP communication system Xfire provides. Say you're in me15ter's clan and want to warn him about the hog coming up from behind. Before the game, simply set up a voice chat server by opening up a chat room (rightclick username, select "Start Group Chat") and inviting your clan into it. Then on the collapsible tab on the right, there should be a button with a microphone on it. Hit it and start the voice chat. Now you're ready to voice chat while in-game, providing your clan with the ability to communicate in voice while in game, regardless of whether the game supports voice chat or not.
The latest version of Xfire includes improved live broadcasting, bug fixes, and support for many new games - on every update!
Xfire is fully compatible not just with Halo, but with Halo: Custom Edition, the Half-Life Series (including Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2, and the Left 4 Dead duo) World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2, Unreal Tournament 3, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Borderlands, and many other popular titles.

EDIT!!!
I
I copy-pasted most of the original list's written section and edited based on the changes XFire has done and the way in which the MAW has changed. I abstained from adding to the list any of the old names of the list because (a)I do not have their permission and (b)because half of them are dead (gone/quit) so the list will have to grow on its on anew. Doing this at 5:40 in the morning after working all night, I can't say this post or the thread as a whole is perfect, but I will get to editing it sooner or later this weekend and/or the following week. I'll try to hop in as much as I can and, hopefully, get to organize the list alphabetically soon. Special thanks to LoneStaruner for recovering the old thread!
II
I have put my name on the list in bold letters, just in case you have questions or suggestions. If you (REALLY) can't find it, it is the first one mentioned on the list.

Every time the word XFire is mentioned in this thread, it is linked to the official page. I am THAT neat! I tried to hyperlink my XFire page to the thread but it was too much of a bother that it worked at one instance and stopped working in the next. If you guys want to check it out, tho, copy paste (Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V respectably) this url into your web browser: http://www.xfire.com/profile/sniperwaffle/.
