...what?

We can not go very deep into the Earths crust, and we know more about the Moon then our own oceans.

And since when did we need to go into our crust to confirm what is already considered general consensus on the theorized composition? Seismic activity and our methods of measurement provide a pretty decent picture as is.

Also, it makes sense that the moon would be easier to analyze than our own world considering that it is barren and rock alone, and much, much smaller.

Anyway, I was altogether surprised that he would use such an example considering that space exploration and mapping the ocean do not coincide with one another, nor does one require the other. Measuring one exploration feat to another is pointless, and even more pointless when the entire complaint is in comparing the real world to science-fiction.

I am Field Master Avu Med 'Telcam, Servant of the Abiding Truth, and I have many brothers.

A god who creates tools is still a god. It is not for us to impose qualifications upon the divine or presume to guess its intentions.

I hate it when threads like this come up. Its a game with biblical references, no deeper than that.

The ark was a haven from a flood. Which was eradicated by a Halo (angles; god ect. also ultimate power)

Reach doesn't have any religious symbolism. As far as I know.

wow never noticed that... so is the story line pro or con religion?

who cares? They're both works of fiction, let's just leave it at that...
Your wrong, halo is fiction the bible is reality how can you deny the inevitable?

I like your open mindness, as I feel the original writers of HALO intended it to be far far far more than just a work of fiction, otherwise, they wouldn't go into such detail with the terminals which give out rediculous amounts of information. And yeah, it can't be disproven, and in fact, the everett-wheeler model of quantum physics, explains how every physical possibility is happening somewhere right now in the infinite multiverse, and possibly our own galaxy. However, the forerunner, in our reality, from what we know, IS a metaphor for ATLANTIS, and shows a revelation of previously already known but lost knowledge.

I just wasted a few seconds of your life and you're never getting them back!

Bungie are not trying to "bash down" anyone. They merely use REFERENCES to the Bible (and various other things) for interest and so players can relate to them. They are not saying "Christianity is the best".

If you knew the truth about noah and his flood, you would know that it is a reference to primitive or PRIME man, considering that he lived for 365 years, this coincides with ancient sumerian and egyptian myth which is where the origins of the TORAH or old testement lie. They, along with the greeks who collaborated Esoteric knowledge with Egypt, Have long ancient records of civilizations like ATLANTIS that fell, leaving true biblical historians to believe that noah could have been an atlantean. Thus, HALO being a reference once again, that HUMANS have been here the whole time, and always will be, even if all sentient life is wiped out. The ark in halo was not a safe haven, it is where all the halo rings are fired from. And all of the collective data of the galaxy of every sentient life form is stored, so that it can be recreated after the flood is wiped out. WHY else would the forerunner care so much about natural beauty, considering that their architecture is covered in it. Their goal was to strive for absolute perfection on all levels of manifestation. In doing so they created the perfect virus, which they ended taking their own lives to my guess, so that no one would ever be able to recreate the flood. wipe out any information on how to make it, including themselves, then just make ways to contain it, and keep protocols. I do not know why the flood still exists though, maybe it's just that perfect.

whaa? the spartans in the game, if that's what you are referring to, have no religion, for the UNSC is the result of a complete government take over like one we will see in the next few years here in our reality. There is no religion in the actual halo story, besides the one that was created by the covenant and their crappy misinterpretation of ancient forerunner hieroglyphics and artifacts. Humans apparantly go completely scientific, after their sciences(in the story anyway) defy religious texts as popular beliefs hold. Which is confusing because people are going to assume a few things, the first being that bungie agrees more with the humans(science) than covenant(religion). However, The forerunner, and all the great detail put into their story can be completely overlooked, and it takes a humans imagination and reason to come up with such an intricate race OF HUMANS. Contact Harvest clearly states that HUMANS ARE FORERUNNER, AND FORERUNNER ARE HUMAN. This is so important because that means they are prophessing that humans created humans on earth.
