Ridiculous topics like this are the reason I hope bungie doesn't listen to the community. Between this, people begging for the arbiter back, and all of the ridiculous gameplay and weapon adjustments people ask for, which accomodate multiplayer rather than campaign makes me sick.
I'm not saying to remove it from campaign. All I'm saying is it either needs to be SEVERELY tweaked or removed entirely. It overpowers EVERYTHING on the map. Maps like standoff essentially boil down to controlling the laser. I want more things to come into the equation.
The homing rocket launcher was perfect imo. With the regular rocket in CE, only those skilled enough could really take out vehicles. Now, I don't want to hold the beginners hand too much, but lets face it, the majority of players can't aim and lead a rocket launcher to kill a vehicle.
The homing rocket offered the same antivehicle status as the laser, but you needed to pick your shots carefully, and not just point and click. If you fired at the wrong moment, the rocket would hit something else, or miss. The rocket also had no lock on alarm, so unless the team has good communication, you would never see it coming.
I would like it replaced with the Halo 2 rocket, however if it was to be tweaked, first and foremost, I want the charging beam to be A LOT brighter, also, I want the sound of you being targeted a lot for prevalent. Right now it glitches most of the time and you don't even know that you're being targeted. I would also like it to have ZERO magnetism and autoaim, and be ONE INSTANTANOUS beam, rather than many small ones. Make the beam have the same kill radius as a sniper. You can clip people and vehicles and weaken them, perhas pop their sheilds. But it would require a DIRECT hit to kill.
