Just make the blasts from the laser spaced out. Right now, there are 3 bursts over about 3 frames.

Simply increase the time between these bursts so you need to land more on a vehicle to deal significant damage to it.

How about it only firing while zoomed in? Then you wouldn't be able to kill infantry as easily with the laser and if you shoot at someone who has the laser, they zoom out, so you would be able to stop them from killing you as easily.

I think the laser should be weaker and more based on good aim. For example, it wouldn't destroy a Warthog unless it was a direct hit, and it wouldn't destroy a Scorpion unless it was two direct hits.

With this, however, the Spartan Laser would have 6 shots instead of 5.

Ridiculous topics like this are the reason I hope bungie doesn't listen to the community. Between this, people begging for the arbiter back, and all of the ridiculous gameplay and weapon adjustments people ask for, which accomodate multiplayer rather than campaign makes me sick.

Its a trap!!!

Like I said in a post just balance the map. One laser in the middle. Regular Valhallah and Standoff are good examples.

Stupid examples are Heavy maps that have lasers everywhere and are easy acess in the very begining.

Teams will first fight for weapon control of the laser. If they win control over the laser then they dominate with the vehicles for a while.

This requires the rest of your team to actully play well and help you win. Not just a 2 man show in a warthog for the whole game.

So keep the laser just dont overdue it by putting more then one on a map

The homing rocket however, could be avoided and dodged, if skilled enough.

or the if the guy with the laser is a terrable shot, it still takes quite a bit of skill to dodge one.

I'm not saying to remove it from campaign. All I'm saying is it either needs to be SEVERELY tweaked or removed entirely. It overpowers EVERYTHING on the map. Maps like standoff essentially boil down to controlling the laser. I want more things to come into the equation.

The homing rocket launcher was perfect imo. With the regular rocket in CE, only those skilled enough could really take out vehicles. Now, I don't want to hold the beginners hand too much, but lets face it, the majority of players can't aim and lead a rocket launcher to kill a vehicle.

The homing rocket offered the same antivehicle status as the laser, but you needed to pick your shots carefully, and not just point and click. If you fired at the wrong moment, the rocket would hit something else, or miss. The rocket also had no lock on alarm, so unless the team has good communication, you would never see it coming.

I would like it replaced with the Halo 2 rocket, however if it was to be tweaked, first and foremost, I want the charging beam to be A LOT brighter, also, I want the sound of you being targeted a lot for prevalent. Right now it glitches most of the time and you don't even know that you're being targeted. I would also like it to have ZERO magnetism and autoaim, and be ONE INSTANTANOUS beam, rather than many small ones. Make the beam have the same kill radius as a sniper. You can clip people and vehicles and weaken them, perhas pop their sheilds. But it would require a DIRECT hit to kill.

I am completely with you on that. I can't count how many times I've stood up and yelled at my TV because a BR flipped my hog. However, I gotta say that the missle pod is more balanced as a anti-vehicle weapon. It isn't too powerful (like Halo 2 homing-rockets) and it has the same tracking capabilities. Plus if the pilot has the skill, it can be dodged much more fairly than homing-rockets.

because thanks to the laser. the teams has to work to getter to get the lazer. and if the enemey's control the laser work to getter to kill the guy with the spartan laser. =]

Nah, misslepod is TOO easy to dodge.

I don't want to make the vehicles THAT overpowered. The homing rocket was a perfect blend of ability to dodge, and lethalness.

Exactly, it's not all about individual skill. The Sp'laser will only kill you if your team doesn't have it.

Why don't people realize that the word "Gauss" doesn't instantly mean "high-damage anti-everything projectile"?

The Gauss rifle used in Contact Harvest is only effective against soft targets, it would hit only slightly harder than the regular Sniper rifle.

I don't want to start a flame war or anything but I agree with you. Bungie shouldn't really listen to there community on this one. Some topics on the Reach forum has been very ridiculous and in my opinion just stupid. Halo is Bungie's baby they know whats best for it. let them develop their game. Please don't flame me. Its a forum, and I'm just expressing my opinion. Play nice :)
