Subject: Why there should NEVER be Halo 4. Also, all MC theories about Reach...

I hope there is a continuance of Master Chief's story arc. His arc didn't infact start with a cryotube. it started on a playground as a six year old when he met Dr. Halsey.

See I knew someone like you would come along, so read my post again. I said in his ORIGINAL appearance. I'm pretty sure it's even in caps like that.

Posted by: Brent G How about the next Rocky movie has Sylvester Stallone up against an 8th grade girl? That sounds about right.

BRILLIANT!

The legendary ending planet has forunner glyphs on it, could be forunner? I hope there is a continuance of Master Chief's story arc. His arc didn't infact start with a cryotube. it started on a playground as a six year old when he met Dr. Halsey. And reach is mostlikley a prequal to his story arc. who says there can't be one more on a forunner planet that ends with the unsc saving his ass from thousands of pissed off ancient machines? kind of farfetched but it could be different.

And what exactly would be the point? It could just as easily be a separate story with a different character.

Well, the last scene reminded me more of King Arthur than when he emerged from the cryo-tube in Halo: CE, wherein Arthur more or less vanishes and is supposed to return only when he is most desperately needed, but whatever.
I'd also like to point out that since Reach falls sometime in 2552 and the Ark is reached sometime in 2553, Cortana is nowhere near rampant from age yet. She's only about one to three years old, max. Additionally, the only indication we can see that Cortana was ever near rampant are the weird flashes or visions from 3's campaign, and that can easily be chalked up the the Gravemind messin' with its enemies (since it could control Forerunner tech through Penitent Tangent- watch the cutscene- I think a transmission and a manipulation of Cortana's avatar wouldn't be too much work).
Add to this the last terminal, wherein Mendicant Bias hints at all kinds of meddling and a last mission, and another Master Chief story, if not game, could be done fairly easily.

All that having been said, Reach is about Reach, not the legendary planet. Those claims are annoying.

True, but most of the Prophets were on High Charity, and it's gone.

Could be intresting, don't see how it would be anything like the other Halo games though. I'd just rather leave Halo 3 as it is and create something new in the Halo universe.

This is very true, but most of the prophets, but not all. High Charity was also built around a Forerunner vessel. Could it be at all possible that this vessel, might have survived the doom of High Charity? Also, The Gravemind was on Installation 5 that survived the events of Halo 2 & 3. If Prophets on High Charity had been infected by the Flood, The Gravemind would have their knowledge making the Flood a much more dangerous foe.

Okay you have me there. To support your theory: Other Graveminds can be made if one is destroyed. It's beleive by many tat Captain Keyes was a Proto-Gravemind when you found him, showing that multiple Graveminds can be formed. (Others also beleive that Gravemind IS Captain Keyes, but i'm not sure on that one.)

I agree, the most frustrating part is that so many people here believe that everything has to be completely literal. Bungie is not the kind of game company that feels the need to spell everything out to it's fans and treat them like children. Unfortunately, most of their fans are the ones who need that.

How to spell "space"?

S-P-ACE! SPACE!

-blam!- you

You must be one of the MC boners from the OP.

The OP made good points, so that's your only offense? Fail.

But what if you took the Lord of the Rings, and added a new movie where Bilbo goes on vacation and Frodo has a party with all the goblins but oh no! Bilbo's coming back sooner than expected and Frodo better get the house cleaned up!

*emails peter jackson about great new lotr movie script

If you don't know who I am, the feeling is mutual.

The wonderful thing about the Halo universe so far is it's depth. We still don't know everything, as it goes beyond the Covenant War. Forerunners and the Flood are where the stories are really at.

It's possible to have a game where the Chief battles Flood, learns about the Forerunners, and maybe returns to Earth or somehow saves humanity from a threat they don't know about.

Bungie could one day abandon Halo and take the Chief and Cortana on their own crazy adventures away from the Covenant. Who knows. Hell, maybe Halo 4 is coming but in the form of a new series just in the same universe. Who knows, Bungie is weird like that.

You can't have a perfect quadrilogy if you have a trilogy with one story, and then tack something on the end for a fourth part. It only works if they ALL follow the same storylines. Halo is NOT "The Continuing and Increasingly Banal Adventures of Master Chief". Halo is about the HALOS, their discovery, threat, and defeat; an all the conflicts, characters, and events that surround that. With the threat eliminated at the end of Halo 3, a fourth Halo would have to be about something completely different, and would not belong in a quadrilogy with the others.

yes but destroying the ark did not destroy the other halos so there's still plenty of ground to cover to completely destroy the threat of the halo's. and i didn't say that it should even involve MC.

Bungie has already said, "we will not be making a Halo 4 and this characters story has ended (the character being Master Chief)".

Don't believe me? Go watch one of the videos in Halo Waypoint.

Master Chief and Halo 4 will never be made/return.

yes BUNGIE won't be making halo 4 and it doesn't have to involve MC but frank o connor said that would definitely think about exploring what happens after halo 3

First off, the Flood is not gone. There are many Forerunner instillations with lots of flood specimens held there. If HALO Wars can be used as an example the artificial planet housed Flood. So I seriously doubt they are gone from the galaxy.

Secondly, 343 already confirmed that the Chief will return in another game. I hope not a HALO 4. A new title and a new adventure with possible returning enemies (the flood and sentinels) would be fun. I want to feel lost and play against insane odds to win like in HALO: CE.

I really hope that Reach has little to nothing to do with the Chief. What he did was written and is canon. To change that or make him do "extra" things would ruin that established canon.

I think that the opening cutscene will be MC's ship floating towards the legendary ending planet and and Cortana wakes him up. He looks at the planet and recognizes that this is Reach where he fought, and he reminisces about his missions there, which is the game.

This, of course, is assuming that the planet at the end of the legendary ending is Reach.
