Subject: Legendary Ending, what it REALLY means.

It could mean anything. In my opinion, its a teaser of an upcoming halo game(Halo 3 was made bout 3 years ago.)i.e Halo: Reach. The planet looks abit like Reach, but destroyed, MC flies past it(or lands on it, i dunno) just to show us fans what the next halo idea is about. It seriously doesnt have to mean anything (Halo CE Legendary ending, Johnson hugs Elite, very close to The Pillar of Autum. It blows up, how can he survive?) maybe a similar endng in reach? Anyways, i hope i opened some eyes out there, not those TIME TRAVEL fools, Time travel is an explanation to almost everything.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

That planet is a Forerunner world and obviously not Reach.

It is already planned to be part of another game, and they said it is not Reach. Its planned to be a forerunner planet or something like that. 343 is making it.

  • 11.02.2009 9:48 AM PDT

no reach is the last Halo title.

Oh, didnt know that, thanke :)

System of a Frown

the thing about the final scene is that there is no time scale to it. we have no way to tell how much time has passed since the chief was put in cryo. this allows the writers(staten) a tremendous amount of leeway for another story to follow. we know (sorta) where the ark was in relation to earth (about 237144 LY plus or minus 25000 LY) we also know that he is essentially drifting in space on a random trajectory so depending on his speed, direction , and the amount of time passed he could literally be anywhere (or if u use parallel universe theory then he is everywhere) for all we know he could eventually drift to reach in several thousand years. will he appear in reach? mabye as he was there during the siege. as a playable character? that is debateable

No, Reach is the last Halo game made by Bungie. 343 is going to make more games, it has already been announced, along with the movie by speilberg, the anime show, and new books/comics.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND ME GROUP INVITATIONS

The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

That was NOT Johnson in the Legendary ending just like how none of the marines who looked like Jenkins after 343 Guilty Spark were actually Jenkins. Bungie simply re-used skins in Halo 1.

The H1 Legendary ending is not canon.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

I doubt it was a lead into reach, and when I say "doubt", I mean I think it is highly, highly improbable that it was a lead into reach. When I say "highly, highly improbable", I mean almost there is no chance, close to impossible.

I think Bungie was just leaving the game open ended, incase in the future they want to come back to it. (And no, the planet is not reach, It is more likely Onyx/Shield planet)

Defender of Reach

i hope there will be a halo movie and i hope there are more games. and if there is more games (besides reach of course) they should to be made by bungie. if not i hope its still good anyway. and yes i think the planet in the legendary ending is REACH.

Since Halo: Reach has already been marked as a prequal, the time travel theory is gone. It wouldnt be a prequal if the main character of the Halo series goes to it at the end of a game.

343 is taking over the Halo franchise, and just so people dont worry, here are some fun facts about them for you.

1. Considered Microsofts "Halo" branch.
2. Most of the employees are old Bungie employees, even some guys from the days of Halo CE.
3. Frank O'Connor will be leading the group.
4. They are making Books, Comics, New Games, and possibly helping Steven Speilberg with the Halo Movie.
5. They are the lead guys on Halo Waypoint which so far looks like a great thing, and when it goes live it should be even better.
6. Also, Microsoft plans for the Halo franchise to last till ATLEAST 2015.

Wherever you roam
so far from home
you'll be safe from peril
life threatening and terrible
if you avoid David Powel
and keep track of your towel.

The legendary ending is what the informed would call a "sequel hook". It's a jumping off point for a potential sequel should one be made in the future.

I have no signature... exept for this one...

I guess the planet is either Eridanus II or a Forerunner planet(to show that he's a forerunner, I think).

the movie idea died and the result was already released as "distract 19" since the company making the movie already spent several million dollars on it when they realized to make the halo movie it would cost way to much

Yeah, lets believe a person who doesn't know the actual title of the movie :DPosted by: haloassassin92

Lol. Actually your wrong.

A few months ago (AFTER District 9) Steven Speilberg decided to take over the movie. He has already seen a script and loved it apparently.

FALSE it's the last halo bungie's making there will probaly be at least 2 more games after reach

"Not now cheif... I'm in the -blam!-'n zone!"

I cant wait for bungie to blow my mind with what happens to MC. People shouldnt bother trying to read into it too much, just wait......

As long as Micheal Bay isn't involved, I am totally content with this. I love Speilberg! Jurassic Park was my favorite movie, loved the movie as a kid, read Micheal Critchon's book in 5th or 6th grade and loved it as well.

I'm totally for Speilberg as long as the Transformers Killer stays out of it.

There's a difference between expressing interest in directing a movie and actually directing a movie.

I think Pesty is a pretty gooooooooood writer, he munches spoons and doesn't afraid of anything!

I've been saying this ever since Reach was announced.
