Think about it, we know they've said no demo ever-or at least til after release. We know they've done scads of in house MP testing with labs of 300 xboxes and whatnot.

But can they truly test LIVE MP with just in house people and a couple labs? Can that really equate to the mass load they're gonna get on 11/9?

So why not release the E3 demo? It looked largely done for the most part, so why COULD'T they release it (at least to the pre-orders) so they can get a real world view of what LIVE load is gonna be like and that way have three more months to tweak it?

So seriously, other than the fact that they've said no demo, why couldn't they changed their mind and release it as like a mass live beta test? No other game will have or has had as much load as this one will. Not even R63 :)

your gonna get flamed...

anyways, I think thre hsould be a demo, it wouldnt hurt Halo 2 it would only make it better. there could be a screen before you play in bold saying: THIS IS A DEMO, THIS IS NOT THE GAME, THINGS CHANGE

somethng like that, Halo 1 had a demo, of silent cartographer and that didnt hurt anything. This is the perfect time to release a demo too

The retards can flame me if they want, it just means they don't have a valid counter argument. No one (other than the devs) know what if anything is coming on 8/24. The demo is done, for the most part.

The only thing is the Halo1 demo was released long after initial release and had no LIVE to test.

Load testing and balancing would be a very smart thing for them to do know, as opposed to all the kvetching and moaning that's gonna flood the boards on 11/10 if they don't have it balanced right

Wait.. your saying we don't have.. counter arguements when you don't have a good arguement either you just based everything on your point of view lol just a thought =P

but sure there could be but there also couldn't be your arguement right there also could refer to a early release date although it wont happen lol *with the changing minds thing*

So it makes more sense for them to "trick" us (change their minds) and release it early? PUH LEASE

My "argument" is that most people are saying that it CAN"T be a demo simply because they SAID there would be no demo. Especially considering that they are in fact releasing a demo at PAE.

So they already did change their minds. Unless they actually said "no demo for the public"

A MP Demo would be a great thing. Let's think of it:

Releasing a demo, only for Live that would juste be playable t'ill November the 9th and then no more playable would sound great!!!

And it's technically possible. Everytime you enter a game, you're connected to LIVE, so it's easy to check dates, time etc. And it would be possible to not let you enter a LIVE Game if you pass the 11/9...

But if they would release the game earlyer, what messi it would become. They told to release it on November the 9th and BASTA!!! And PETER MOORE is going to get some problems with his Tattoo too ;)

The misunderstanding lies in the fact that Bungie isn't just testing "in a couple labs." 1000, and that's not a typo, Microsoft employees were chosen for the test. That's no small multiplayer test.

Bungie isn't going to do a public test. It's not how they work. They don't want the issues and bugs of the development process to mar people's view of the game, which is why the beta is private, and why anyone who's a part of it has to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

1000 people is NOTHING. that's a mere drop of the bucket compared to the number of pre-orders any TWO stores already has.

Plus, they obviously wouldn;t release it as "test", as in actually saying "here's a demo for you to test"

They'd release it as a true MP demo, a lot like RTCF and R63 did. They'd just have more time to weigh the load and whatnot from the THOUSANDS of users all over the world.

I'm just saying a demo holds a heckuva lot more weight than releasing it early, especially three months early.
