"Halo Reach", as all of you should know, is the last Halo game for Bungie before they move on to a new IP. I believe this game should be such an EPIC WIN that every other game will be humbled by the mear mention of "Halo Reach. I know we all have our different views on what "Halo Reach" should be like, but this post is based upon Halo: Its greatest aspects, much needed repairs, and necessary cut-offs that should be known in order for "Halo Reach" to WIN! Before anyone says "Someone's already done this!", this is but my opinion.

Wall of Text. You have been Warned.

A. Keepers
I. Health Kits and Health
II. Character Transitions
III. First Person Cutscenes

B. Improvements
I. Facial Designs
II. Human Enemies
III. Dialogue
IIII. Enemy/Allied AI
IIIII. Matchmaking
IIIIII. Campaign Length
IIIIIII. Crosshairs and Sights

C. Removals
I. Brutes

Paragraph A1
In "Halo Combat Evolved" and "Halo 3 ODST", we have faced similar challenges: conserving health and finding health kits. As tedious as it sounds, it can actually help gamers enjoy a longer, challenging campaign or multiplayer. In addition, it will require strategic and tactical thinking to play these games, thus eliminating the ease of zooming through the campaign within a few hours.

Paragraph A2
In "Halo 2" and "Halo 3 ODST", we transitioned from character to character for the first time in Halo: from the Master Chief, to the Arbiter, to the Rookie, and so on. A feature such as this would be great to keep for "Halo Reach". It will add diversity to the flow of the campaign and keep it from getting dull.

Paragraph A3
In "Halo 3 ODST", we have been introduced to First Person Cutscenes. If most of the cutscenes in "Halo Reach" are in First Person, it will help gamers to actually feel like they are in the game.

Paragraph B1
Bungie does an excellent job with graphics, but there is one thing that always seems to vex them: getting the face right. If Bungie were to improve on this, then gamers won't be so distracted with facial features that they won't enjoy the campaign.

Paragraph B2
In "Halo 3 ODST", we got to fight against our first human enemy. However, a single Corrupt Cop doesn't seem to be satisfactory to most of us. I suggest Bungie should create more human enemies for the protagonist (whether the Protaganist be a Covenant or Human). It will add to the variety of enemies to fight and people will have to think of new ways of killing them.

Paragraph B3
"Troopers! We are mean and very, very green!" This is what Buck said to ruin the epicness of dropping feet first into hell. And that's not all either. The voice-acting and the dialogue both need to be improved if the campaign of "Halo Reach" is to be enjoyed without cheesy or meaningless lines.

Paragraph B4
In "Halo 3 ODST", the patrolling Covenant seem to always know where you are once you shoot at them. Even with a silenced weapon, they'll immediately turn toward you and shoot. Also, fighting them just seems too simple. They need to improve the enemy AI, because they are the central part of the game. You don't want to play a game against dumb AI, do you? Not to mention the Allied AI. They are significantly dumber than the enemy. They need to at least make the Allied AI as smart as the enemy AI.

Paragraph B5
Multiplayer is always exciting as long as people are still joining. However, in the history of Halo matchmaking, you can only join BEFORE a game begins. This means that if you soemhow lose people on your team, either due to lag or frustration, you'll be stuck fighting against a possibly bigger force for the rest of the game without hope of reinforcments. They need to create a Matchmaking in which players can join a game while it is in session. Also, they need to add a matchmaking for Firefight or whatever survival mode they are planning. It will increase the replayability of it.

Paragraph B6
Ever since "Halo 2", campaigns have been getting shorter and shorter. "Halo Reach" is going to be Bungie's last Halo game and it will need a lengthy campaign. The longer the campaign, the more epic the feeling you'll get upon completion. Also, it will be remembered longer.

Paragraph B7 (LOL)
In most games, scoping or looking down the sights is more effective than using the crosshairs. However, in Halo, it doesn't make much of a difference. I mean you can practically "no scope" someone with easy in Halo. In order to make the game challenging, the crosshairs must be adjusted everytime you move, not be stationary. Also, you can only zoom in using weapons with scopes. In order to add to the realism of combat, you must be able to look down the iron sights of non-scoped weapons, zoom in slightly with hip or shoulder fired guns, and/or look through the scope of scoped weapons (much like BF: BC).

Paragraph C1
Brutes should never have been our main enemy. They're intelligence is inferior compared to an Elite's. Brutes should not be in "Halo Reach" PERIOD.

My fellow Reachers, please spread or add on to the ideas I have expressed here. Honorable Bungie Employees, please read and listen to my words. If these ideas are implemented for "Halo Reach" then it would possibly be the most EPIC game ever made!

So the grunt's or the drone's intelligence is inferior compared to the Elites. By your logic, therefore grunts or drones shouldn't be in Reach either.

I'm fine with elites being the main enemy of the game, but that doesn't mean that there shouldn't be brutes. Medium Range Elites backing up a squad of close range brutes would be quite a challenge to beat.

He says he doesn't want them as a main enemy. The Grunts or Drones were never the main enemy. By your logic, Grunts and Drones are the main enemies.

My name is Alex. I am 20 years old and I am currently attending the Savannah College of Art and Design to become a conceptual artist (majoring in game design). I am an avid gamer with a collection of 532 games (183 of those are 360 games(70 of which I have yet to play)) and every console from 1985 and onwards. I also have the most beautiful womanz in the world, who encourages me to draw more (I need the encouragement haha).

I hate to see good threads like this die so quickly. I agree with mostly everything except for instance the Brute part. They still should be in campaign, but they should fight along side the Elites as well. Brutes are integral to the storyline and should stay in Halo: Reach for sure.

He actually says: "Troopers, we are green and very, very mean!" on Easy and Normal; "Pucker up, marines! I sure as hell ain't hosing out your pods!" on Heroic; and "We are droppin' into Hell, troopers! Time to grow a pair!" on Legendary.

I disagree with A1, B5, B7, and C1 and I find A2, B2, and B3 to be meaningless but I don't oppose them. The four remaining points that you make a fine, better is always better after all.

No. How can you people agree with this? If Bungie were to do this, then Halo may just feel like every other shooter that's currently out... Iron sights are fine for CoD, but for Halo it would just be stupid. You can't have the intense, frantic gameplay of Halo with slow elements like iron sight. Jumping off rooftops or high structures and you need to iron sight in order to hit someone as you're falling? No. Just no.

Other than that I completely agree. You should also include the NEED for a custom games search. Matchmaking only goes so far and finding new people to play custom games with is soooooo tedious and unreliable...

Here’s what Luke had to say about the differences in treatment between the Spartans and Elites in Reach:

“Instead of piece-by-piece customization like the Spartans, Elite customization is a full model swap with models selected from the various Elite classes appearing throughout the Campaign. There are all kinds of reasons for this, not the least of which is our continued emphasis on the Spartan as your identity in Reach.”

Firefight needs improvement. Add more options to custom games.

I make a legitimate thread on the most logical choice for the next Bond actor, and you take that away from me by creating a parody thread indirectly connecting my thread to yours.

I hope your kids have bad influences and develop bad personalities. I wish this with all my heart.

Well thought out, well written, well said. Kudos.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

The only reason they were able to bring back health packs for ODST is because the whole game is in a city. They didn't have to waste any of their time making up situations that allowed for health packs to appear (take finding health packs on the Ark or High Charity, for example), and they can focus moreso on the actual big parts of the game.

SAS Halo 3

I dont know where i got this from but:

ELITES AND BRUTES NEVER FIGHT IN THE SAME BATTLE

Elites Were Regrets Main Species

Brutes Were Truths Main Species

They Never Fight together. They HATE eachother.

So theyre could Only be One (Brute or Elite) in the Game.

ACTUALLY,

You could maybe Battle them at Different times in Different Areas.

I have a few things to add to this

Halo is more of a "Run and Gun" close range game. even the biggest maps are only 200 yards across. but a zoom like the Silenced SMG for weapons like the AR and SMG would smooth out mid ranged engagements.

It would work lie a sensitivity toggle. so in CQC you have good response time and it would be less sensitive for mid to long range.

Spartans and ODSTs can't use scopes or sights. there helmets get in the way. But they do have a built in targeting computers which gives you your reticule. however in game-play iron sights would be far more practical. so I would like to see auto weapons be dead center accurate when you control your fire.

""We meet again, young one. I am the last of those who gave you breath and shape and form, millions of years ago. I am the last of those your kind rose up and ruthlessly destroyed. And our answer is at hand."

I agree. Also add a map editor!
