There are two things on this forum that piss me off;
Idiots and group invites.
What's even worse, is that I can never seem to get away from either of them ¬_¬

Old idea that's been brought up in dozzens of threads. I think it's kind of a waste, especially because it'll make more lag.
Ugh... I'm tired of people saying things as fact when they know nothing at all.
When a Marine dies, their body is swapped with another skin. This idea uses the same principle, and I don't remember that ever causing any problems...Campaign uses a entirely different system to what multiplayer does, therefore yes it will lag.
...
You really don't understand computers and software do you?
Simply put, yes, MM uses a different networking system to Campaign, put uses the same coding system, which is what matters here. And if Reach;s engine is as awesome as they say it is, it will most certainly be able to handle something as small as changing a skin based on simple parameters.
Difficulty will only occur when you want the damage to be centralised to hit areas, but even then, it's not too much to worry about.
Oh and have you ever played Red Faction? That has wound graphics in MM and plays perfectly.
I know alot more than you do,i have a diploma in it while you are probably still in school.
Campaign for halo uses a system called Lock-Step, it syncs dynamic objects such as AI and damage permutations, if you have ever tried to compare using several rockets on one vehicle with damaged turned on and then compare the performance of when damage of turned off you will notice performance changes drasticly.
Regional damage is possible in halo CE but is rarely used because it has adverse effects on the network code and is generaly hard to syncronize between clients.
Okay, you proved your point, you know more than me.
But with all the evidence I have, I seems very possible and likley. Other games have done it and I'd have thought simple skin changes would be easily done. When it comes to networking ETC, it wouldn't matter whether it happened at the exact same time for all players or not, as it is just an aesthetic change.
